A type of quark with +2/3 charge, as opposed to down, which is a type of quark with a charge of -1/3.
When you have two ups and one down, you get a proton. When you have one up and two downs, you get a neutron. Though it might seem intuitive (as it was to me), an electron is not three down quarks. It’s a kind of particle.
