omg, it’s a mug!
And it’s got hot cocoa in it, I bet ![]()
Do you like putting anything in your hot cocoa?

Do you like putting anything in your hot cocoa?
Why choose? How about both? ![]()
Yup! Season 24 is currently underway and I like it so far. In fact they just took a break this week (or last week, in your time zone XD) because of Thanksgiving, and I was like booooo, I was looking forward to the new episode ![]()
I’m glad that none of the people this season are super infuriating so far. I binged the first three seasons not too long ago and hated S2 Sarah so much, as well as the S3 Red Team for bullying Julia because she was “just a Waffle House cook” ![]()
I’m not sure if it’s just me but I find myself gravitating to the blue team more often than not
what about you?
Usually I prefer it plain, but sometimes I like putting marshmallows in it and sometimes Bailey’s Irish Cream. (>‿◠)![]()
Whipped cream is usually enough for me…but if they offer marshmallows and chocolate, I can’t refuse!
I took a spirit animal test and got bee.
As I get older, I become a more balanced, well-rounded type of person.
I don’t recall favoriting one color more than the other. Some seasons, the red team would be women only and it could get quite catty, but among them would be that one serious and kind-hearted underdog that I could cheer on. Some seasons, both red and blue would have strong contenders at the end and I wouldn’t be able to decide which I like most.
And sometimes the blue team would just have that one memorable guy (remember that guy that broke his arm but ended up being the finalist cooking with one arm?) that comes out on top. Worth cheering on the persevering person
But it’s been years since I last watched Hell’s Kitchen. I watched the UK and US ones. I even watched the other ones where Gordon Ramsey was a judge. I was hooked.
I did enjoy them at the time. But then, I faced the reality of reality TV and now it’s hard for me to enjoy it. I do still watch Got Talent auditions because I know the talent is real and you can watch the performances in isolation, but other types of reality TV are hard to follow because you can’t really watch the “performance” part in isolation. You need to know the story.
I found this miniature-making contest on YouTube, but the reality TV gimmicks made me cringe ![]()
I’ve recently been facing the reality of “reality” TV
How the show is cutup, Frankensteined, and contestants are made to look a certain way for entertainment. What you see might not at all be in the right order either and it could also be clips from a different context. The nicest person can be villainized just because. There’s a vocal coach react channel I’m subscribe to, and some years ago, I learned she had auditioned on X-factor, but they made her the villain.
She didn’t make it past judges houses. So, I watched the season and boy did they make her look like a selfish, ego-centric person when she’s not that at all
She got hate for it.
For that reason, I’ve been watching more documentaries
But let’s face it, even documentaries can be dramatized but at least I get to learn something. At least the facts are real.
All that being said, not saying you or anyone should stop watching reality TV. I know many people love to watch Love Island. I just can’t anymore ![]()
Ooooh, I should tell my partner about this idea. He loves Bailey’s Irish Cream ever since my mom introduced it to him, and he loves hot cocoa
I looked at the first “Who are you?” question for the spirit animal quiz and I have no idea what to choose XD
I think that happens with a lot of people
Just thought of this: it’s like we’re cheese.
You get all these things thrown at you when you’re a kid and at some point, you’ve soaked it all up into your personality and character… and then you become a young adult, and start marinating in that. And then… you become more balanced and well-rounded… You become cured like cheese. Matured like cheese.
Hmm
This could be a poem
Ah yes, this is the main reason why I would gravitate to the blue team more sometimes! Especially in Season 3 when they were ganging up on Julia
I haven’t watched all the seasons but I’m not looking forward to Season 9 and a certain infamous contestant.
OMG, DAVE FROM SEASON 6! I loved this season, especially the blue team. You wanna know what’s interesting about this season in particular? The finalists, Kevin and Dave, were both injured early on in the competition. One lost an arm and the other had broken legs
ironically they were the ones who ended up in the final over the rest with four fully functional limbs.
Ah, I completely get it. On the contrary I haven’t watched any Got Talent show since the AGT season with Marcin
I knew that sometimes the show was a little rigged, but it seemed so blatantly obvious in that season.
I didn’t like when they kept on propping up that one girl, Ainsley Burns(??? is that how you spell her name) even though she had to redo her songs and got her voice overwhelmed by the backing track. Like I’m not hating on the girl, but she got way too many chances
meanwhile the other singer whose name I forgot had a wonderful voice, but in her live performance post-audition Simon Cowell was unnecessarily harsh. And yet she was a much better singer than the other younger girl! Like bro??? As an actual choir kid I did not like that at all.
Not to mention how Yoli Mayor got in over Just Jerk. Like she wasn’t the only singer that season and she wasn’t even that impressive compared to the other singers, in my opinion. Or how a dog act that wasn’t that impressive compared to previous dog acts made it to the next round over Marcin.
I still think the winner of that season deserved the win 100%, but all the other shenanigans turned me off from the show completely.
Oh yeah I completely understand! I personally don’t think I can ever watch that kind of show
I prefer cooking reality TV more than other kinds, and I guess it’s because you can’t really fake food ![]()
What I also like about the later seasons is that there aren’t any cartoony villains in the cast. Like I can’t bring myself to hate any of the people in the current season. Some of the chefs also joined the subreddit, and at least for some of them, the edits aren’t too egregious.
Yeah, I remember that
What was even crazier is what happened to them afterwards. One of them returned for redemption and he was a better person and cook when he was injured ![]()
They compare two very different acts to each other which has always seemed unfair.
But hey, Marcin’s doing a world tour now and I get to see him Live this month
He’s doing pretty well.
OMG, that’s so exciting! You gotta send pics from the concert once you go! ![]()
The best thing for a cold, rainy day? A bowl of hearty soup and a sandwich/toastie tbh. Then a cup of coffee, and a warm brownie for desert ![]()
I went to his first Tokyo concert last year
Let me see if I can find the pics…
It was so, so cool!
I roped my partner into it and now he likes Marcin, too
ooooh, yum
Anything in the brownie? Just a plain one? Also, do you like spongy or crunchy brownies? Or maybe more cake-like soft brownies?
Remember Raj the Karate Maniac?
Video uploaded to YouTube for your own entertainment. I will take this down after a month.
