~ ***** a fox chat ***** ~ [Now: What are your guilty pleasure foods?]

Depends on the execution, really. Fantasy and sci-fi are generally better to watch since they have elaborate settings and special effects, and you don’t get those visuals in the book. But an intricate story with lots of interiority doesn’t always translate well to the screen, so… ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯

I guess it just depends on how layered the story is…? The simpler the story, the better it translates to the screen, whether it’s a western, a fantasy, or whatever.

I hate horror and crime fiction, though. Unless it’s a comedy. Those are fun to watch!

Both! I really can’t decide; I found the Lord of the Rings movies more memorable than the books, but I preferred The Hobbit as a novel over the trilogy. I loved both the Harry Potter books and films.

‘Reading’ though often it’s listening to audiobooks. I’ve seen too many bad movie/show adaptations.

Honestly, it depends on how I feel any given day :joy:

Has there ever been a movie that was better than the book for you?

Topic: What are your guilty pleasure foods?

You should not be eating those foods too much, but you love them and will not give them up.

Mine is mayo, cheese, and putting one or both of those things on most anything

Oh, sure! Just off the top of my head I’d say:

Jaws
Life of Pi
House of Gucci
The Wizard of Oz
The Princess Bride
The Man Who Fell to Earth

Lots! Fried chicken, cheeseburgers, pizza, mashed potatoes, chocolate chip cookies. (ღ˘ᴗ˘ღ)

Oh. I choose mine because my parents hate that the spicy korean chicken has a smell that takes a while to wear off.
Do any foods you like actively annoy those close to you?

None that I can think of. I do love the prepared General Tso’s chicken from Sam’s Club, but I don’t think it’s the smell that bothers them so much as the price. (♯^.^ღ)

I’ve never had that Korean spicy chicken before, but it sure looks good! ( ˘ ³˘)

There is a chain of bubble tea places called Akihi in my area that sell them. It might overtake Starbucks due to sweet, non-coffee drinks being more popular with younger people. For me, I always get decaf frappucinos that are more like milkshakes than anything properly coffee.

I’d get the frappucino too since I don’t like Starbucks coffee. It always tastes burnt to me. Granted, I haven’t tried any of their cold coffees. Those actually look pretty good.
