I was playing around with MJ’s zoom out today.
I was curious what would happen if I started from an eye and then just zoomed out and out until I created my character. I was using a combination of a standard zoom and the custom zoom where you can modify the prompt.
Few lessons learned:
MJ creates unbelievable eye close ups. Simply amazing.
But it has a hard time matching them because you know, it’s all variations, right? So eyes won’t match each other and that quite ruins the appeal of a pretty eye.
So starting from an eye proved challenging for that reason.
Secondly, it takes a long time to zoom out and by the time I did, I found the body position was stiff. I didn’t like it. I’ll stick to normal character generation.
HOWEVER.
I got lost down the rabbit hole of zoom when one of my eye images turned out unexpected.
I thought, that’s cool. I created a couple of eyes like that and then I went to town with them.
And then I just kept zooming and zooming and zooming.
And I learned that:
a) that’s how you can get around prompt censorship. Definitely nsfw stuff.
b) why does everything evolve into a woman at some point?
c) going far out in zoom starts producing weird results like character’s chest becoming the forehead of a much bigger character. The absurdity was amusing but also annoying.
Anyway, so I grew this alien out of an eye and many many more.
I could create a cool video where I zoom through the photos by combining them from the initial generation to the final for a cool zoom in and far far out effect. OOooh. Or even better. Start from the final, zoom in and in and in, and then zoom out and out and into a different variation so that the final image wouldn’t be the same as the starting one. Hmmm. That would look super cool.
But honestly, not sure if I want to. I’d have to comb through hundreds of images to get the chain.
If it was for my characters, then maybe I would, but for pure fun with absurd aliens, ain’t nobody got time for that.
I’ve got a few cool aliens in my collection now. No clue what to do with them so here they are for your entertainment.
