Definitely might be a mood reader and here's how I figured it out!

Something that I’ve noticed is that there are some books that I can’t finish and get up to five or ten chapters then stop. However, I DO go back to those books to try again. I sometimes finish it, but other times it hasn’t been the right mood/time for me again. Then I go back to that story and manage to finish. But it does take me months to years. I see it as, I wasn’t in the right head space or mood to read the same book until I am able to. Never mind the fact that some books are harder to get through because I am just not interested in it.

But I’m seeing that I am strongly a mood reader and someone who will reread the same book until I am able to finish it to the end. I also reread books in a series to complete the series all over again or reread the same book just because.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think I’m a mood reader or something else?

At first I thought that mood reader was a more advanced form of mood ring.

I’m a mood reader. If I’m not feeling the book at the moment, and not in the right mood to read it, I won’t enjoy it, and so, I won’t read it. Even if I had started it. I will only read whatever book I feel for in the moment.

Do you relate, you think?

As for rereading, I won’t reread a book unless I really, really have forgotten everything I had read. That, or I love the book so much that rereading it is just as enjoyable as reading it for the first time. This isn’t related to my being a mood reader.
