You’re absolutely right, you don’t. I just write chapter summaries before I start my chapter then take it from there.
I should look up plansters or the mix of writer types. That should be interesting. Might find something
I prefer long over shirt for more content
It might also take some time since it feels rare to find plansters that are published authors or even just writers.
Yeah, so maybe like, show the beginning of each article on the screen and say,
“in this one their main points were this and this” and then add my thoughts. And in the compilation, I did begin a bit of a deeper discussion at the very end, so that could lead into the summary video. I can say in the summary, “so in the compilation, I said…pantsers are valid, let’s talk more about it. Why do they think this? What can we do?”
Or something…could be interesting to explore?
The articles don’t outright say “pantsers are bad, plotters are good”, but you can read that from them
I think, anyway
What’s your most watched type of long-form content?
ASTRUM
And livestream VODs
Nah, I don’t really go through phases. Every time I find a channel I like, I just bookmark it and sort them by subject: music videos, writing advice, news networks, book reviews, cartoons, drawing instruction…stuff like that. And I just visit a channel based on what mood I’m in that day.
If I need to know something for my book and have to do research, I’ll do a manual search on YouTube to see what comes up, and sometimes that leads to interesting new channels I never heard of previously. It’s fun to stumble onto something new! (*^-‘) 乃
Definitely! I found “Well, I Never” through that. Learning about all kinds of murders, mysteries, and scandals of the 19th century. I love this guy’s accent.
omg, you’re so organized XD I’m so chaotic
I’ve been feeling for fashion/lifestyle video essays recently, so will probably start watching Mina Le and Tiffany Ferg and Khadija Mbowe again. I guess, I remember specific channel groups I like to go to for specific moods, so I just go to that group every time. But that means I don’t discover new channels, so sometimes I might just look up “fashion video essay”.
I do that too! I hate missing out on new channels, but omg I totally hate losing a channel I’ve loved in the past, so bookmarking them just works best for me. And I often search manually for whatever subject I’m currently interested in to find new things. “Princes in the tower” has brought up a lot of channels I’d never heard of before, for instance.
Ooooh, I love Mina Le! And I’m not particularly even interested in fashion, really. (ღ˘ᴗ˘ღ)
The longest video I’ve put on was a 12-hour long gameplay of Sonic Frontiers (had to look up my history to be sure ). I don’t think I was fully engaged the whole time though, and I saw it over the course of a few days.
If we’re talking a long video that I fully paid attention the whole way through, then it could be any of the 2-to-4-hour videos from my favorite gaming Youtubers/Twitch streamers. I enjoy listening to their commentary or rambling while they play, plus I’ve discovered some amazing games through them!
I personally prefer videos in the 10 to 30 minutes range, with longer videos usually being videogame stuff that I leave in the background to listen. There’s been a few longer videos on random topics that catch my attention though. An example being Fredrick Knudsen’s deep dives into niche topics or historical events, which range from 30 min to over an hour (his longest is like 5 hours).
Bonus: I don’t know much about thumbnail design, but I like yours!
4 hours is a lot to me XD 2 is the maximum I’m willing to sit through
Are you really able to concentrate on a full 4 hour long video or does some stuff fly by without getting into your head?
omg I’m betting that it probably was an even longer video before editing
Thanks
To be honest, its usually the latter sometimes I listen in and out while doing other things
