Sometimes it’s not a job but something u picked up. 4 me it was working in a machine shop before my freshmen year then a fabrication/sheetmetal shop during high school then went retal as it was the only work I could find, ud be surprised how easy it is for a retail worker to know when something is up we literally are on the look out for weird behavior in our environment all the time. There is a wealth of knowledge in doing something urself to know the subject matter

I think even simple jobs like retail or working in customer service teach you how people talk, act, react, stuff that’s super useful for writing realistic characters. I worked in a library for a bit and just observing how folks interact gave me so many ideas.
