Not so sure.
Traditional publishers treat books they see as marketable material as a business and won’t take risks, because they are trying to make money in the end.
Whereas self-publishing is doing it all on your very own, but with a story that many tradpubs won’t touch.
I get that, but it also discouraging because who wants to be told in a sense that your novel doesn’t fit our requirements when that writer just wants to express something and do something different? Then self-publishing is good for people like that, but it is scary because you are doing EVERYTHING by yourself in terms of marketing, promotion, and finding people to help you, especially if you are someone who sucks at doing those things.
It is discouraging and forces some writers to give up on a dream.
I wish that was a happy medium in all of this.

Studying the driver’s manual, which Nissan car I would like to get when I manage to pass the road, and the fact I finished my hand-written short story called Arcane Proposal.

Yeah, baking powder is one of tbose things that the date isn’t as important as the reaction itself: you test it first, close to date, either before or after:
Baking soda OR egg will get the mixture to rise. The more egg, the more cakey it is, which is why baking soda/powder is favored.

The thought of wanting to go to the library again.
I just have a Samsung tablet, but I no longer have a laptop.
Which is a good thing, since the laptop I had was 17.3 inch and pretty heavy. Carry that shit and other things was hell when I walked to the library or went anywhere.
Now, I just have a tablet and that is good enough for me to travel places.
I should go to the library for a few hours just to get out of my home and have an overall change of environment.
