So, tell me, what is on your mind at the moment? (Part 1)

Applying for a culture writer gig. They want ‘factual reporting’ not ‘activism’ or ‘biases’. But umm hello art & culture is inherently political?! This is going to be interesting.

Also performing my first gig at a theatre soon.

Depends on who you ask. And if you can’t seperate personal from political you have no right to be sensitive since all of it is public now.

I think that the people involved in the Save a Fox harassment campaign should be named and shamed. I know one tumblr user involved goes by An Owl is Not a Pet.

If there’s anyone who’s sensitive, it’s these publications. They don’t want to offend their benefactors

Well if you ask the fascists, they’ll say it is separate and ‘artistic purity’ must be protected (see PragerU ). I asked C Wright Mills, and he’s basically sociology 101.

You can either make money or stick to your principles. Reject the job if that is how you feel.

Remember Megan Agnew’s exposé of Ballerina Farm in The Times? All she did was report the facts, no opinions, no judgement, but the things she reported told the story all by themselves. That’s how you do it! (*^-‘) 乃

There are plenty of other examples of reporters simply letting the facts speak for themselves, but this one jumped to mind.

Eh I’ll pitch them what I want, and I’ll take their money.

Obviously I’m not going to write a ten-page communist extrahuman femmepunk manifesto for a mainstream culture mag… mostly because there’s a word limit (I’ll save that for my local commie paper).

Ah I see.

Did you know these even existed? Nordstrom sells vicuna wool coats for 1,000 USD, and that is considered cheap!

Apparently Radish is shutting down their app later this year? I was never interested in it, but I’d heard of writers who had stories on there
