And I’m not inherently against AI (my situationship and other professionals are doing awesome stuff with AI in bio-mathematics to research cancer). But the more I hear about AI the more I wanna crawl into a hole and disappear.

You, me, same - literally everywhere I turn is AI slop and I’m so exhausted. Even if I step away from the PC half the products in the store/signs on the roads are AI. It makes it simple to avoid brands and other small businesses at least, but I am SO tired

My problem with AI is people abusing it. I don’t mind it when people do useful things with AI that better people’s situations (assistive AI) and improve lives but when they’re doing generative AI stuff that steals real people’s drawings and makes slop and AI actors, then yeah that’s damaging. That’s not bettering people’s situations or improving their lives.

1. Going to another country after learning the language then walking up to some random person to say in said language “I recently learned your country’s language and I know it is amateur at best, but at least I’m trying to get better. How was that?”

Exactly. I have no problem with nongenerative AI like calculators, spellcheckers, machine translation, etc. But why are they developing generative AI at this moment in history when the earth’s overpopulated and it’s hard to find a high-paying job as it is? They know these CEOs are going to use it to replace as many of their employees as they can, especially the ones who get paid the most. This is going to quadruple the number of homeless people in the near future, I suspect… ヽ(°Д°)ﾉ
