So, tell me, what is on your mind at the moment? (Part 2)

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. It’s like the most annoying boy from my elementary school grew up and decided to make his taste in food my problem.

I’ve been re-reading my favorite series, both audiobook and physical copy.

It’s a nice way to work my way back into reading books more often.

I believe that by reading the physical book and listening to the audiobook might save me in a way.

I can only hope so.

Oo I enjoy a Spanish or German. Italian gets a bad rep but I like them too. I’ll have just any kind of booze really.

If I wrote an unhinged Urban Fantasy with a twist and Aztec-Irish mythology fusions would people actually read it? And it had different themes to what you’re used to?

I would but I am an outlier!

Idk if I saw this on Wacky or what, but someone said Wattpad was encouraging and allowing people to use gen-AI, and I went to read the Wattys book and they’re strongly discouraging people from using gen-AI. So, idk…maybe they changed it or something? Because I did see some comments of people arguing against them, but nothing in the text says they’re allowing gen-AI.

Anyway.

I’m realizing how many dinobots there are.

I’m hoping they make a therezinosaur or an iguanadon. Those two are my favorites.

Cap Pikachu being some kind of incredibly tough Pikachu

I have six pages left in my daily journal until I am done with the journal itself.

Then I can start my other new journal.

So… I went to the workshop. Met a cute guy. Found out he’s been in a civil partnership for a looong time :sob: so I married myself.

Trying to come up with a new story idea to write.

It is not easy.

I had a historical quibble with a book I read.

Specifically, I read a book that was a reimagining of an infamous true crime (namely, the perpetrators being young women instead of young men as they were in real life, as well as being set in a different city).

What annoyed me was how, after the protagonists were caught and facing trial, there was a lot of talk about hanging and the gallows.

Now, in the real case, the perpetrators actually did face the possibility of hanging because that was how Illinois (the crime took place in Chicago) executed people in 1924 (they were ultimately sentenced to life imprisonment, by the way).

However, the novel took place in New York City, and the state of New York actually carried out capital punishment via the electric chair (in fact, New York was the first state to use the electric chair, which was first used almost 35 years before the time period of this story).

This is compounded by the novel’s epilogue, which takes place in 1969; one of the perpetrators is released from prison, and during a discussion with a friend of hers, they discuss Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who in both real life and this story were put to death in New York’s electric chair.

Granted, I have a hyperfixation on the topic of capital punishment, but it does look pretty bad that the author didn’t get this detail right for most of the book but did at the end (she’s also a native New Yorker; I don’t know if that makes the error even worse on her end, but I thought I’d mention it, especially since I’m not from New York).
