Went to sleep again and now I am awake.
I need to start part 1 of chapter 2. I am very excited because not only is it mentioning who the other Breaker is, I get to see where/what’s Civiria is doing for a bit in regards to finding out more on the enemy and Elred.
Like as I am writing part 1 of chapter 2, I’ve forgotten the name and what exactly one character does.
I need to write that all the names of the characters that I have introduced in The Breakers and the same for the characters I will introduce.
I have TOO many characters revealing themselves.
I am still here for it, but I really need to jot down the names of the characters and their roles along with the relationships the characters has.
I keep a list of characters sorted into little groups by relationships, with the character’s occupation and age following the name. Only way I can keep them straight and remember what names I’ve used. It’s also good for making sure I didn’t use too many similar names. (ノ_<、)ヾ(´▽`)
It’s weird because I am just pantsing through this storm of a story, not even thinking about jotting down notes for random things. I could be that bothered to do note-taking.
It’s either handwritten or typed or locked away in my head or I just don’t.
Yes, the same thing happened to me. The grace period they give a new story to start growing is about that long. They also want exponential growth to keep pushing you up in rank. I have a lot of stories with unfortunately about the same number of readers daily, so they just cycle, and never push into the growing curve. It my improve for up to 5 days, then it drops back to min number of individual readers a day. The snowballing effect is hard to get.
I’d understand if it was because they wanted to rotate the stories so different ones would be on top at different times but then I look at what’s at the top and it’s mediocre stories not updated since 2013 (tf, that’s a decade now) or the same few that have over a million views.
How can a new story compete with that?
so yeah… WP rankings are not okay.
Did you ever get to rank high within any of the major tags?
Once for like half a day for no discernible reason. My oldest book also sat around 100 in Fantasy for many years, also for no reason. But my actually alive historical romance keeps cycling a little up, then falls back and doesn’t rank. I gave up on watching ranks. Peeps don’t go to Wattpad to read books like mine, period.
so i was definitely planning on working on MB after I finished GH but i plunged into drafting a whole other story instead. and like, i thought i was just burnt out of MB and a break would fix it but now I think it’s the fact that it’s digital that the problem?
it’s just… it hurts my weakling shrimp spine to sit at the computer all day, and it’s much harder to leave the house with a laptop compared to a notebook, and i already spend a bunch of time on it for school. And my best writing times are right when i wake up, in the dark, exactly when a blazing laptop screen would fry my eyeballs. so, idk, i’ll have to figure something out. I might start going to campus early and typing there. Even though i would 1000% rather stay home in the mornings. we’ll see.
But for today! i go out with the new project. writey writey
I swear I need cushions for my desk chair. I have to use two blankets and a not too great lumbar support pillow to give me some type of comfort, but it is not enough.
When I am sitting at my desk, I need to be real comfortable for extended periods of writing and internet browsing, even with breaks.
I got to get some comfort and no I am not buying an entirely different chair neither. I don’t have the money and can’t be bothered.
A relative will get me cushions for my desk chair soon enough.
Anyway, I shall finish up with The Breakers and see if I am able to redo Red Blizzard State.
I think I literally only wrote one paragraph yesterday, because the new POV is not yet sounding good, plus… figure skating! I am still going to work on it today and tomorrow, finish the chapter and put everything but reading aside for a week prior to the ONC.
I had a dream about having to write something for a class (honestly I think it was more of detention than a class) and I ended up giving myself a good idea for a story but as I watched myself write this, was forced to take a break and wait in line for food in a cafeteria I realised that I did not listen to what I was supposed to write and everything I wrote that was supposed to be due the next day was unusable.
I’ve been out of school for two years (haven’t actually been inside a school in nearly four) why am I dreaming about school. Anyways, I got a story idea for later although I didn’t notice it until I started writing down the actual story in my dreams that it resembles one of my favourite games a bit.
