I asked a question on a publishing subreddit wondering if anything had changed in the few years I was out of the loop regarding traditional publishing but the mods deleted it for ‘not providing new information about publishing’ and 'you can read the FAQs to learn how to query and go on sub"
like fam thats not what I was asking. I know how to query and shit. I’m wondering about technology shifts, personal experiences, what the market is like these days.

Obviously, gentleman Richard didn’t usually speak with such fleshy words, but he was becoming punchy as the days went on and they couldn’t find the woman they were looking for. He thought he might go insane.

Anyone have a good idea where I can ask for feedback on if the first 150 words of something has a decent enough hook? I tried looking on the beta reader forum but like the last post seemed to be months ago if that.

I’m done with chapter 33. I shall start chapter 34 later. That is going to be a much longer chapter as it is a flashback chapter.
I am getting close to being done with part 2 of the story. Then I can start part 3 which is the last part of the story.
I am so excited!

Have you tried Scribophile or Critique Circle? There’s also Reedsy, but I think you have to pay for beta readers there–I’m not sure.

I have a scribophile but I’m kinda saving that for like, when the work is not in rough draft stage? Since it seems like Scribophile is a lot more heavily focused on publishing and I don’t want to waste people’s time by accident for the rough version of 150 words. But I found some writing FB groups online so wish me luck!
