I don’t think anyone but you can answer this question. Some people can swap and do better that way. Others are happier deep-diving and doing one story at time. I would say go with one and if you get in the flow, stick with it. The trouble with switching is that at least in my experience, the initial 20-28K words are harder, and it is easy to get distracted so commitment to the novel doesn’t have a chance to happen. So, take at least one of your novels to 30K before abandoning it for another? It’s only a month or even less of writing.
The sequence I was writing for 3 days straight is done. I was worried about it, doubted it, but in the end, I like it. It even has foreshadowing of some backstory MC will reveal in 3 separate places, which I will insert into outline tomorrow. I am exhausted now. Good thing I have next week off!
I haven’t written a single darn thing aside from supermarket lists in the last week or two. My brain is just burned out I think. Just the thought of writing makes me go, ugh, I’d rather take a nap.
Been playing a lot of Pokemon Violet though? Procrastination? Maybe.
I don’t know if this method will work for me, but I have to try.
Yes, it sounds weird and will leave you questioning “why do it that way instead of doing it one way or the other?”. Still, this is something I want to try for a week if possible and see if I can stick to it that way.
What I want to do is a read-along with these two books that I have. I mean I am just playing an audiobook and reading to the audiobook.
I have the same book in audio and physical copy. I can read the physical copy while listening to the audiobook. Yes, it is a weird way to read, but I want to test it out and if I like reading that way. I don’t see the problem so long as I am reading again.
But if you’re using Pinterest for stuff related to your story, it still counts, right? Asking for a friend lol I have folders for each of my novels, and a folder that’s just called “Words” with all kinds of anonymous writing tips like names for different shirt types or shoes, or synonyms etc.
It’s just with me I do that and look at nonsense too.
So, I go back and forth between looking at story related things and things that have no relation to my story at all.
I spend a few good hours on Pinterest doing that it is really bad.
Doesn’t matter if I’m liking pictures that could be for a story, I waste too much time there.
I need a serious healthy balance of browsing on Pinterest for the things I want and need.
The home alone bandits would probably make more money if they sued the McCallisters for having dangerously slippery doorways and stairs. Probably also get a personal injury lawyer for that.
