I know you arenโt a Ghibli fan but Nausicaa, Valley of the Wind did everything Strange World tried to do for enviromentalist storytelling and suceeded. It even went as far as to have the animals most at risk be ugly looking bugs. So if I wrote a story like that and sped it up by 30%, would you read it?
