Iโ€™m starting to think that the only characters I relate to are either pink and child-like (Patrick Star, Yuki Takeya, Pinkie Pie) or Cynical Japanese Dudes (Ains/Suzuki Satoru, Kaiji Ito).

I donโ€™t know what that says about me as a person but someone can tell me.

Oh, also Zorro from One Piece. Luffy, too, to an extent.

@EdwardInzerillo I listened to an audio drama of Sherlock Holmesโ€™ story Silver Blaze and I was astonished that someone who worked for a stable for a good long while didnโ€™t know not to approach a horse from the back. Itโ€™s a phenomenally stupid move.

Do you want to see a demon king talk about Sumo?

Pretty straightforward:

Youโ€™re cynical about life so you appreciate characters that have a dark humor and attitude to them, especially if they get to tell off people that you cannot.

But you also want life to be stupid-simple, want a mindless laugh, wish things were not as complex.

You do know these are symptoms of a minimally brilliant young person whose ability to read social cues is all from the mistakes they made because of an inability to read social cues while having to intellect that will eventually decipher what it missed and kick itself in the butt for taking too long to process what happened, right?

Itโ€™s almost like looking in a mirror, for me, on this one. The big difference is that I still love the serious ones and Iโ€™m not wholly attached to the simple characters. Part of that is my age. Part of that is that Iโ€™ve gotten to that stage in life where most older folks are: your social group is next to nothing, your kids are your life (outside hobbies), friends who love you dearly forget to contact for most a year (and you then)โ€ฆ Thereโ€™s a lot less yearning for simplicity in my life because the standards of simple at my level is isolating. You donโ€™t plan life, you stay home.

Ah, youโ€™ve found the reason a ton of Eurocentric arguments against Christianity donโ€™t stack up very well. Just like Eastern Orthodox throws a lot of Catholic-cebtric arguments on itโ€™s rear.

But I came in to post this. Itโ€™s serious, but thereโ€™s been a few times Iโ€™ve cracked up because even in serious situations, itโ€™s funny.

I think @MatthewJH might like this one, too.

Hey, reading a level-up where the MC is a skeleton. Not sure itโ€™s clean enough yet.
