Hello there! How’s it going?

Hello! Everything’s going well over here. How’re things going for you?

Ohh hmm. Argh now I’m more curious. xD Don’t make me take it for myself to find out  I’m prone to doing silly things like that >.>

Read it!! Well, I mean, some parts are a bit of a tough read but it all adds to the experience so much. It’s really quite a journey. There’s a… plot twist-ish kind of thing at the end but I was kind of suspecting it. But it did not lessen the shock whatsoever. You know, I think the main character had as tough of a life as E in your story. It’s heartbreaking and can get depressing at some parts but so beautiful how it shapes him, and there’s such a comeback and it’s all worth it in the end :joy:

Okay, well, I’m not Catholic myself, so I might not be the best judge, but from what I can tell, I really don’t think so. Plus, I doubt the friend would have recommended it if he thought it blasphemous :joy: He’s a Catholic too. Yeahhh okay no, Dan Brown’s books are just on another level entirely :grimacing: I never read them but I read a book about them and I was a bit repelled. Haha.

Ohhh I see. Ah, that’s too bad. Maybe you’ll have a chance later. Or you could try finding an ebook online :joy:

Oh that’s unfortunate. Do they allow suggestions? Because that’s what I did when my library didn’t have it. And they approved it and got it. (They were probably getting sick of me since I was giving suggestions so often xD)

No, everyone has their own strengths. We’re just strong in different areas, I guess, and tend to see what the other is better at. xD And don’t bash yourself, your poetry is actually really good. Believe me. Sometimes I even think they’re better than mine. You just have a lot of power in your voice when you write it.

Hmm, well perhaps you could try without doing research? :eyes: Like as an experiment. That’s fun too, sometimes. Take what you generally know about it and go with the flow… I don’t know. :joy: (When I started out, I hardly did any research. Have I ever written prose poetry? I have no idea. Honestly, I was just in a state and writing what was pouring out of me at the moment. But I’m assuming some of it comes close because people have put it in their prose poetry reading lists…)

Ah, true. Well, it does take a while to get the hang of. I always violated the rules when I started. But after while my mind was literally beating to the drum of iambic, and it became slightly easier. xD It got so that it made it terribly hard for me to write in any other metre. Don’t worry, we all have to start somewhere. It just takes exposure and practice.

I will be waiting eagerly. I don’t mind about updates, I’m a very irregular updater myself. xD

Haha that’s okay, it does take time to get used to. I don’t remember the last time I had that reaction, but I definitely did what you did. I have no idea how I got used to it, honestly. xD

Okay yeah, that makes sense. I suppose it is hard to get past that. Hmm, maybe this book isn’t the best example to start with. It’s hard to explain what I mean since it took a while for me too. I used to think exactly how you did. Oh, yes, iiingriiid_'s story used this POV. One of them did. And she did it so well, too. I think that’s what drew me haha.

You know, that’s quite possible. Because I think the barrier most people have is just unfamiliarity. It’s very different from the past tense. Now, I read it with almost no effort, but it wasn’t always the case. If you read the whole book, it might help a bit. Especially because in some areas, the effect is really brought out. The beginning is kind of slow. Well, the book is really long, actually, but at a certain point I just couldn’t stop reading. xD But it’s up to you. Especially if you don’t have enough time, then don’t feel pressured to read it.

Oh yes. I actually just happened to look back at your profile one day and saw that you had followed someone new. :joy: Since you don’t follow people that often, I was curious, so I checked out a couple of her works. And wow, they were amazing.

Oh, well I wasn’t concerned with the timing or anything. It’s just that I don’t even want to get married, haha. Also a lot of other factors but that gets too personal.

No need to go further, but then I’ve known people who have changed their minds on that aspect as well. Part of that by going outside the culture that caused them to not want to marry in the first place.

Well, everyone’s been telling me I’ll change my mind but I haven’t, since I was a kid. Plus, I’ve also experienced a bunch of cultures, all right. xD I’m pretty sure it’s not culture that pushed me to do anything.

A character who suffers but gets a comeback? Ooooh, interesting :eyes:

Oh, that’s good :joy: from the first couple of chapters I could tell it might not be as sacrilegious as I feared.

Well, I’m a foreigner and a newbie and I don’t even know where the library is, so I don’t think they’ll take suggestions from me :joy: it’s okay. I’ll just shell out some money and compensate it by eating cheaper food :joy:

Aww, really? Thanks!

Oh I’m never going to do it without research. I’ve butchered way too many things and I’ve forbidden myself from writing without research :joy:

Maybe I’ll get used to it. Let’s see :eyes:

I am going to read it, because once I start something I don’t want to put it down. I’m a “completionist” :joy: unless it’s Twilight bad, then yeah, I’d quit

I had a feeling you discovered her thanks to me :joy:

The biggest one that surprised me was in his late 40s when I was 19. He met someone a couple years into us talking (distant cousin, like 8th gen, and we were in college at the same time). I could hear the gentle relaxing of his “Oh HELL no!”, where he couldn’t.

My father remarried in his late 50s/early 60s. But then, he doesn’t like being single because it makes for a lack of focus–we long expected remarriage as soon as mom was buried.

:joy: What made you think it could have been?

I mean, there was a designated place on the site where anyone with a card and account (unless they don’t use cards there) could submit requests. If you ever got an account, and if they have that section, maybe it would work? But I don’t know if all libraries have that request feature.

Hahaha okay then, if that works for you! :joy:

Oh, so I have met another of my kind.

Of course, the coincidence was too large to be an actual coincidence. xD

Ooh, well that’s great for them.

Like, what else am I supposed to say to that?!

lmao, just pointing out that I’m not thinking about youngins whatsoever. Marrying at 40 is having a whole lifetime before marriage. As is, 60, as is 80. That’s all.

:woman_shrugging: :joy: I mean, I don’t know what else to say either.

Yes, that’s true.

it was meant to be a tease. lol

Let’s just say that recent media has not exactly portrayed my faith in a positive light :joy: I guess I was a bit paranoid

I know my university libraries don’t even have a fiction section, so that’s out of the question. I guess maybe the library in the college town I’m in might be an option. Wait, I remember visiting a public library in Toronto when visiting my cousins. I’m definitely going to go to Canada within the next three years, so maybe that’s an option.

@/zeroinfinyx is like that too (that’s how she was able to finish the first book of Twilight) :joy: completionists unite!

Speaking of completionists, the next book I want to buy is the final book of the Harry Potter series. It’s the only book in the series that I haven’t read and I really want to read the ending :triumph:

and that’s also why I’m extra careful when buying a book series. I don’t want to get all excited only to be let down in the end but end up buying the book to complete the set :joy:

Oh yikes, that’s a shame. I don’t think I’ve heard much about that, but I guess it’s good to be cautious.

Yeah, I suspected as much out of university libraries. xD oh yes. You do need an address in the city in order to obtain a card, though. Unless you borrow your cousins’ card if they have one. But that’s so weird that you’re coming, we’d probably be around the same vicinity. :joy:

Yeah. I’ve recently read a couple of awful series when I tried dabbling in the more popular works, and I was tempted to quit. I even put the book down for a while, but then I was like, I can’t not finish it! xD

Ahh yess, Harry Potter. It’s pretty good. I mean, I personally like the first few books better but it’s still way better than some. Oh yes, that’s why I’m hesitant to begin series too. Especially if they’re too long, because then I’ll be forced to put up with it. When I was young, I followed way too may kids’ series that are apparently still releasing more books, so I’m stuck here still reading. xD

allow me to busybody into this conversation :eyes:

:joy: yes, let’s unite!

speaking of Harry Potter, I have the whole set lmao initially I didn’t even want to read it but to date I’ve read it — and by it I mean the Chamber of Secrets — a couple of times since I really like Tom Riddle

I just buy it anyways lmaoo I’m actually looking to by the Throne of Glass and the Red Queen series even though I kinda dislike absolutely despise the MCs

Sameee :joy: It’s like mental torture, no matter how bad the book is my brain will be going “FINISH ITT OR YOU CAN’T SLEEP EVEN MORE”

OMG yess. One of these happened to be the 39 clues series think it was called — and to date I’ve only been able to read book 1 since I couldn’t find the others :sob: not to mention the Boxcar Children Mysteries

Same, actually. I was like, I’m not reading something everyone else is reading! xD But my friend kept pressuring me into it so I did.

Yesss. And then right after I finished it I immediately went and ranted a bunch of paragraphs about it.

Oof. xD For me, it’s books like Warriors :skull: Can I just say, the characters get me annoyed so often because they are ridiculously stupid, but I’m still keeping up with the new releases for some reason. Oh my goodness, those ones.

lmaoo for me it was the opposite — I didn’t want to read it since my friends said it was terrible :joy:

i return it to the shelf and never even look at it again :joy:

i personally enjoyed Warriors lmaoo I think it was because I read it when I was really young and just getting into books :joy: at this point I only remember names and certain parts of the storyline. Oracles of Delphi Keep drove me mad since the series wasn’t, and still isn’t complete :sob:
