Personally I can’t stand TikTok. I don’t have an account there and never will, and I hate it when people link me to things there and say, “You’ve got to see this!” It’s always a waste of time for me, but I think I’m just too old for it now. No matter how much everyone insists it’s for all ages, it seems to be solely for teens and pre-teens. Welp, they can have it. Yes, some of those teens like adult books, but then, teens should be reading adult books. The human brain likes challenge, so people should have a natural desire to read above their grade level, in my opinion. ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯
As far as banning it, I’m not so sure. Normally I hate bans of any kind, especially for something so popular. Just because I hate something doesn’t mean everyone else should be deprived of it. But is it truly a national security risk? I’m not a computer programmer, so I’m no judge of real risk vs. national panic. I’d have to hear more from a respected expert in the field. My natural enemy is AI since it’s already threatening my livelihood as a novelist. I can’t worry about perceived threats until there’s some actual proof that something bad is happening because of it.

I think so, too. That, and toxic adults.
The reason for the ban is because the USA gov thinks the Chinese gov is collecting USA-people’s info for nefarious use.
That’s the reason they want to ban it.
Japanese officials are worried about the people’s brains with all this quick content.
So…idk what will happen in Japan. I don’t really care

Honestly, with how long I’d been hearing about TikTok possibly being banned it’s surprising to learn that it might actually happen, considering how big it is
I don’t have an account there, though my partner and some friends do
It’s an app that’s never caught my interest nor do I see a reason to have it, since I end up seeing TikToks reposted on other social media and Youtube too
If it stays or gets banned, it wouldn’t affect me either way

So true! Especially since characters in the book generally introduce themselves by trading calling cards, or dropping them onto a silver tray for the butler to deliver. But it’s more fun your way! ヽ(^。^)丿
