AMA my story Project Succession! Keep me on my toes!

First thing’s first, my story is just called Project Succession and doesn’t have an official title yet.

Here is the gist of what it is about

The main character is named Aeris Alderman and she works as a Knight for the Knighthood Union Alliance, which is a global organization that handles the problems and issues of every single nation in a way that the government, military, and etc can not. The KUA helps and heals the world, nation by nation. Aeris takes on a mission to investigate the constant murders and assassination attempts on the Thornwood Dynasty from within the dynasty. She learns that a contest to prove who is worthy to rule and build an empire is coming and is known as the Succession Trials which is to select who is worthy based on politics, magical talents, social skills, and etc along with who can summon a god then answer three questions. Aeris will soon get involved with the familial succession drama when she winds up summoning the god Saint Mal’gel by pure accident. Now, she has balanced her duties as a Knight, yet learns more about her heritage and past that she never knew, but learning the ways of becoming a princess. So, now Aeris has two roles to fill and two things to do. Knight and princess, solving a familial crisis drama and learning about the family she never knew, along with rebuilding an empire.

Here are five things to learn about Aeris:

  1. Tirrons are magical vampires. Aeris is a mixed-Tirron which means that she has Tirron blood, Gaian blood, and Solarian blood mixed inside her. She still needs to consume blood, though not as much. Aeris can do necromancy, perform summoning rituals, alchemy, and also see ghosts. She can handle being in sunlight though she can only handle certain levels of heat.

  2. Aeris’s father disappeared from her life at an age when she was slowly becoming independent and it was around the time of her birthday which is why she refuses to celebrate it since she prefers not to think about losing her father.

  3. She never knew about her royal heritage till after summoning Mal’gel and never knew that her own mother who died after her birth was royalty. Aeris also never knew about her father’s noble heritage.

  4. Her failure at the desert nation Pannotia still haunts her since she was not ready and couldn’t handle the extreme heat which also clouded her judgement and made it tough for her to work properly.

  5. Aeris is a stubborn woman who tries to do so much and never wants to stay bored, being bored causes her to stay lost in her thoughts and that is something she would rather not do. Aeris can’t relax and take things slow and pushes herself too hard. That is going to hurt her and that is something she fails to realize at first.

It sounds like an interesting fantasy story but I don’t have anything to add to it. Perhaps if you posed a specific question.

Ask me anything about the plot, Aeris, the story overall, and the world-building.

Any questions you might have from what I had listed down in the topic to discuss, ask away.

I need to stay on my toes with this story about certain things.

Don’t be shy!

Okay, I do have one. What sort of diety is Mal’gel? What are they a god of? How did Aeris “accidentally” summon them?

Saint Mal’gel is a god that deals with the dark magical arts. Like necromancy, sacrifice rituals, and anything occultish too. Aeris trips and by her falling that gets wounded. Her blood leaks onto a summoning circle and causes her to summon Mal’gel by accident. Aeris’s blood is an interesting mixture of different races that caused her to summon Mal’gel, anything else will be further explained as the story progresses further.

Anyone else?

I don’t have any questions, but I do have a suggestion for staying organized and on track about things. Why not read the whole book through while taking notes and creating an outline? Like, you write down what the major plot point in each chapter is, how the story moves forward, what new questions are introduced, whether any old questions are answered, etc. so that you can see at a glance how the story and character arcs progress. It’s also useful for making sure you didn’t leave any unresolved questions that will frustrate the reader if they aren’t answered. ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯

I have to wait till I am done with the draft I am working on. The other draft wasn’t how the story was meant to go and this one is more to my liking and everything.

I am not done with it yet.

I don’t have questions yet, but I am trying to think of some

You got plenty of time! Come back when you think of something!
And it can be anything relating to the story based on what I got written down in my post.

I can wait!

Do you have any questions for me based on anything?

I am willing to hear it. I shall answer things tomorrow because I need to go to bed.

Goodnight!

This is just such a random question: Does Aeris like her own name? If she had the opportunity to change it, would she? oh, and one more, does she have a nickname?

She never put much thought into her first name. To her it is a name. She wouldn’t change it because she doesn’t have the tolerance to do it.

She thinks it is fine, then again her feelings will shift as the series progresses, in a good way.

Here’s some fun questions I’ve asked and seen on IG. Maybe it’ll be helpful for you?

  1. What does your character have in her pocket? (in other words, what does she carry around with her all the time?)

  2. What is the first thing your character says in the story?

  3. If your character and villain (or just one of her enemies) magically got along one day, what would they go and talk about in a cafe together?

  4. Your character goes on summer vacation to the beach. What does she take with her?
