I’m not sure anyone should care about my main character, or any of the characters, or the book, or anything I’ve ever written in my life. Yes, I’m having a crisis of confidence at the moment. ☜(ˆ▿ˆc)
But if the reader did care, I imagine it would be because the mc is basically a good guy living in dangerous times under a tyrannical king, awaiting execution for a crime he didn’t commit. Injustice, I think, usually makes a character sympathetic…? ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯
Because he’s a sympathetic young man torn between his lustful desires and feelings of loyalty towards his family, and he’s finally expressing himself to his mother, who may or may not accept him.
