Can picture prompts help with writers who suffer from white room syndrome in their stories?

I am genuinely curious if it can help in some way or form.

Like if I look at a picture and exercise my best to describe what is happening in the picture. It could be any picture so long as I do my best to describe what is happening in the picture.

So, is or will it be helpful with my white room syndrome that I suffer from so badly?

I won’t know until I try it out. Maybe I can go back to Pinterest again to help me out.

Thoughts and feelings?

You might need to use a timer when searching for good images if that’s what you decide to do to, in order prevent yourself from going down a rabbit hole.

it certainly can’t hurt. I use photo references all the time for stuff I wanna describe, be that places or people.

Yes. I’ve written plenty of shorts from visuals…

BUT: it’s not automatically changing my visual cue depth in stories. Like, I may not write vivid details about the story even with a visual.
