She also drank two cups of coffee with them and…

You could see the mania in her eyes, she looked terrifying … and then she only slept an hour last night

So yes, she’s not very terrifying, as her medication is making her metaphorically burst.

QOTD: Help me figure out the genre and audience (age-wise) of Artifice, Ethereal?

It’s a very existential, chaotic, and funny story about a mismatched group of people saving the world from the MC’s crazy ex. There’s elements of romance, fantasy, mythology, and science fiction, though most of it happens in real places on earth. The ex wants to summon an ancient evil to destroy the world because she can’t have the MC back :joy:

the characters are all in their 20s and 30s, and those who aren’t either mentally act it or have existed for long enough to understand how it works to be older. It tackles themes like lack of purpose in life, the emptiness that comes with not having one, and the impact that trauma and love can have on your worldview and identity.

anyway. Ideas? :eyes:

My guess is low fantasy and people in late 20s which would make it adult but idkkk

It sounds very Leigh Bardugo-esque. I’m thinking Ninth House. I’m thinking Juno Dawson. So adult/ ā€œnewā€ adult.

Based on the concept I feel like the audience would be younger-leaning 20s.

Hmm. Thanks.

Yes, I second this. New Adult.

Oh, no! That sounds horrible. I’m sorry you had to go through that experience! I relate to some part of it, and I had my fair share of wounds to work through, but definitely didn’t have it so hard… It sucks when children can’t be children.

I’m glad you’re getting that experience now! Do you feel like there’s less responsibilites now?

Hehe that’s cool! What do you enjoy most about it? Any new hobbies you picked up on to explore? Do you enjoy travelling?

It’s just that I get to learn a lot about how people got where they are, and what their experiences can teach me. It’s also good to know what’s going on in the community in whatever field I’m discussing, so when I want to take a step up, I have some idea of how I can position myself and what to try.

Thank you!

Yup, sure does.

but at least now I got a killer sense of dark humour and a bunch of skills in life that take decades to learn for normal people. Heheheheh

Yup

I no longer have to care as much about what people think, there’s no explosions I need to tiptoe around, and there’s no way mom can make me take care of my sisters cuz I’m in a completely different country

OMG I LOVE HAVING MY OWN MONEY

I can get what I want without having to beg anyone for it or lie or just plain old be sad that I can’t get it because otherwise my parents will explode at me. And I love being able to just decide I want to go to the doctor to get help without my mom looming over my shoulder and telling me to shut up because she can explain my problems better than me (duh! Because I definitely trust her with my full self and I can confidently say she knows me )

oh, and I GO WHERE I WANT AND DO WHAT I WANT WITH WHOEVER O WANT BECAUSE OMG NO ONE IS GONNA YELL AT ME ABOUT NEGLECTING THEM WHEN I GET HOME

And I picked up boxing  that’s something my parents would have NEVER let me do when I lived with them.

Yeah, that sounds cool haha

I think YA pretty much sums it up

That’s a cool perk, definitely.

Ooh that sounds nice. It’s amazing to have your own space after getting out of such environments.

Yay! That’s so cool! Love the ability to just do what you want to. It’s horrible that you weren’t even able to tell the doctor your own problems…

Yessss! Have you been travelling a lot? Are you a beach or forest person? Or both?

Damn, that’s cool! Sounds like a lot of fun.

Random question: Coffee or tea?

Urban Fantasy, 19-year-olds.

Peak :sparkles:

Yeah, I was thinking that, but it deals with too many existential crises to be one imo. I feel like it sits between YA and pure adult fiction.

it’s like, so deep but also the point is chaos.

Mmm yes. hehe

Irk it’s super cool ayeeee

That wasn’t the bad part. The bad part was that o would ignore problems for YEARS because I didn’t want to tell my parents they existed  cuz if I did they would interrogate like I was a prisoner of the KGB :sob:

Yeeeeee

I mostly run around with my gf, go where she takes me. It’s SUPER FUNNN

Matcha :face_savoring_food: so the best of both worlds

Do you enjoy decorating it? I think that’s what I look forward to most about getting my own space everytime I move.

Noooo that sucks! Hope it’s not left any problems, and you’re able to get it checked out now.

Ayyy I see you’re a passenger princess? That’s so much fun!

ohhh haha fair. I don’t particularly enjoy matcha, but it’s a nice refresher.
