Hello! I don’t drink coffee. My characters, however, do drink coffee
If you have any interesting flavours, please feel free to drop them here. Doesn’t matter how weird they are. The weirder they are, the better the ideas tbh ![]()
The Vietnamese know how to make uniquely delicious food!
Do you want actual weird flavors or can we make up things?
I’m boring. I just drink plain, black coffee most of the time ![]()
I only drink coffee with brown sugar and sometimes a little Kahlua. Not especially unusual. But a place where you might get some weird ideas is to google for coffee creamer flavors. Some of those are really odd, and might give you an idea what some people are willing to put in their coffee. (>‿◠)![]()
Preferably actual weird flavours
Ah, understood.
I don’t know many weird flavors unless it’s a latte and I barely know those.
Where do your characters live and what sort of coffee do you want them to drink? As in, are they coffee snobs, or Starbucks coffee lovers?
I usually get a cappuccino from local specialty coffee shops, I love salted caramel and coconut flavours (separate lol). I also used to get a latte with mint and chocolate.
My local coffee shop also used to have a nutty, holiday mixture…I think almond, hazelnut, cinnamon? Idk.
And, of course, there’s pumpkin spice
I’ve even seen lavender in some places, and I’ve tried a rose-flavoured latte once but not my favourite. And I think another local coffee shop I go to has an orange-almond flavour.
Starbucks Japan did a sweet potato frappuccino drink last year (maybe they do it every autumn idk).
For a stronger (and snobbier) milk-based coffee drink, there’s a flat white. Somewhere between cappuccino and latte in terms of milk, but with 2 (or 3?) espresso shots. Most places will let you customise number of espresso shots tho.
Oh, and the standard for coffee flavourings is usually 2 pumps of syrup, except for Starbucks, where it’s 4 pumps
where I live, at least. I’ve seen some pretty damn crazy Starbucks orders in the US.
There can also be a cultural difference in terms of the dairy used for coffee. Americans apparently use cream sometimes (coffee creamer), but in Europe and other places (including Australia and Japan), it’s generally frothed milk, whether animal or plant-based. Pea milk seems to be popular these days. Oat is also a popular choice.
It’s a fantasy world so literally anything goes ![]()
