Hello peeps, Angel here.
I am once again in search for a critique partner, this time it would be to help me edit my poetry. I’m preparing to submit to litmags and I need a second opinion on what poetry would suit each one best, what I can improve on in each poem, and second thoughts on the bios I write for the litmags.
My poetry tends to be on various topics, but the common thread is that it’s poignant, emotionally provocative, and with a flare for the dramatic.
What I can do in return: any edits or comments on your poetry, bios, etc. I can also crtique novels, although to an extent because my poetry tends to be on the shorter side (100 words average, 300-400 if I’m really vibing with the subject) so I can do a chapter in exchange for each poem. I’m well-versed in story structure and developmental edits, and can catch typos and odd sentence structure well. I’ve been a critique partner with a close friend for over a year and a half, and I know how to give structured feedback and comments.
Hope to hear from you all soon! Please drop below some info about you and the book you’re writing/poetry you write and then we can see if we would like to arrange something.

Hello! I realize this post is rather old now, but if you’re still looking for a critique partner for poetry, I would be interested! I have recently gotten back into writing poetry; I used to write a lot of poetry more casually 2011-2019, but now I’m getting more ‘properly’ into the medium, and I’m interested in starting to submit my poetry to literary magazines as well.
I write both poetry and fiction, although I am a very slow writer and am only now getting back into writing after years not making much progress with it. I consider myself pretty good with editing, almost moreso than actually writing; I have trouble silencing my inner editor to actually get words down in the first place, lol.
I’d be interested in exchanging poems with you, although I don’t have a large body of “current” work yet, and I’m sort of experimenting right now with what kind of poetry I want to write, so I don’t really know what kind of poetry I will end up favoring. I love both free verse and metric poetry; I really like getting into the minutiae of poem structure and diction, making each word count.
I could provide you with some samples of the poetry I’ve written in the past as well to give you a better idea of my poetry, although it’s mostly quite outdated and unpolished. Honestly, I would also be happy just to give you a second opinion for ‘free’ lol, I’m looking for more writer friends in general, especially those who also write poetry.

I wouldn’t mind swapping! I also write poetry. I have a lot, but I put together some themed work for a chapbook I intend on publishing. It’s mostly the “weaker” poems that I could use another pair of eyes on. I hesitated to have someone give feedback because I know poetry is subjective, but I’m open to a swap. If you want an idea of what some of my poetry is like, you can check it out on WattPad. Thought what’s there has already been improved/edited off of WattPad. I intend to take this down once I publish on Amazon Kindle.

Sure, I’ll take a look! Would you like to also DM you some poems as well? My work hasn’t seen Wattpad pages in years, so I’d would have to be an individual sharing situation.

Sure! Would a google doc be better? We could leave comments on each other’s poetry.

Yeah sure!
Just keep in mind both of you (@divinemonster) that I’ll be super busy these next few days cuz I’m travelling (going to Germany with my GF for the holidays whooo) so I won’t be able to send it as quickly as I would like so I can’t really send anything until Tuesday.
I’ll try to get you guys both something by then.
Thanks, have a good couple days! Hope to talk soon.
