delusion is the solution?????? Ahm yes

What do you think caused this depression? Is it related to the change of place and lack of friends in the new city? Or did this issue start earlier?

Well, you will start soon with real tech projects, right? Gotta hang a bit longer.

Yeah, just like with any other parameter, it isn’t good to have higher than normal levels of uric acid.

Tho, the point is, generally speaking, higher levels have been measured in psychiatric disorders (especially bipolar, schizophrenia and depression) compared to healthy individuals. That shows us that uric acid has some kind of connection with mental health. Perhaps as a potential marker that could be useful for diagnostic. However, the exact mechanism hasn’t been determined yet. There are a bunch of different theories.

OCD is partly genetic and partly learned. Not sure about levels of uric acid in OCD tho, haven’t found data on that one.

I agree with you: to truly grow in any field, you have to keep learning and updating your knowledge.

I don’t think it is as magical of a process as it may seem to you, to be honest. It is trickier than writing prose, sure, but it is a matter of practice and, as people say, “finding your own voice”. Elusive concept of talent comes second, in my opinion. Shame to hear that poem got deleted. Perhaps you should try rewriting it? Maybe it turns out better than you expect.

The decision I meant will come after specialisation, and those last around 4 years in most fields. Until then, I will surely stay in my current city to keep improving myself. So yeah, I got a bunch of time.

Psychiatry is my main interest currently, yup.
You reminded me of a joke we had once in an old chat, when you asked me this, and then: “What’s your second choice?”, and then “And third?” :joy:

Depression didn’t come actually. It’s like lurking around and I’m I’m trying not to fall in it. Maybe because of the office environment for the exams in the training and thinking about career. Because it’s not the first time I’ve been in a new place and away from home. But yeah, maybe lack of friends is a reason, like some people just make you feel better. Now they are Krishn (a God), a phone call to home and friends, for me. I made a good friend in the office but she got in another domain and is in another building.

Maybe because people with ocd doesn’t go to therapy much. Unless there is intrusive thoughts or adhd or depression with that maybe. So the lack of data.

I mean the poem being magical. Magic as in not out of nowhere, but like, magical.

Did you answer? What is your second choice? And third? Did you say surgery in any of the choices?

It’s good you found at least one good friend there despite her being in another building now. You can hang out outside of training/working hours, and, perhaps, find a new circle of friends.
Also, do you manage to get free time for yourself, your hobbies and such?

That could be a possible explanation, I agree. We could also add the fact that there is hardly any specific therapies for OCD in store - and other disorders that involve some kind of intrusive thoughts and pathological habits such as pyromania, cleptomania, gambling, etc. - to begin with, apart from anxiolytics and the usually long-lasting cognitive bihevioral therapy.

I agree, that’s why I love reading and writing poetry. It shows how the possibilities of language are endless.

I did. I believe I mentioned pulmology and cardiology. Right now, I’d put neurology as my second choice. In fact, I am preparing that subject right now for my next exam. It is just as fascinating to me and closely connected to psychiatry.

I didn’t say surgery, but we did speak about it a bit. I told you I prefer avoiding surgical branches because of how big the responsibility it is, and how fatal mistakes can be. You said something along the lines of, how surgery is an amazing branch of medicine because of the fulfillment you get as a surgeon: the confidence and the control you can exert, while fixing patients’ issues, almost like fixing a “bug in a code.”

Don’t ask me how I remember the whole convo. Dialogues just tend to stick in my memory for a long time. :joy:

Outside office? Hah. Office is morning 9 to evening 6. We used go shopping before domain training but now as domain training started we don’t go.

Not much. The very few hours we get, we have to study. So, little time we get for ourselves.

Seeing as you wrote neurology, I thought of doctor strange.
Yeah, I remember the conversation.
Don’t worry, I also remember conversations and things from a long time ago. :joy:

In that case, perfect time for socialising. Or don’t tell me you use whole weekends for studying as well?

Doctor House is the main character of a medical TV series called House MD. One of my favorite shows. It was inspired by Sherlock Holmes, hence House being that kind of an unparalleled genius as a diagnostician. Would recommend it if you like medical setting. There is a ton of drama, witty lines and rare diseases.

Um… Uh…
That’s a really good question. :joy:

Blasphemy. He deserves a detention too, not only a fail.

No. I’ve heard of Mr. Bean, but I’m not sure I’ve even heard of the latter.

Thanks for clarifying.

It hasn’t been Spike TV in a long time. It didn’t even start out as Spike TV.

Ah. I actually don’t like cheese much. So, I don’t like pizza that much. Burgers are maybe okay though.

Have you ever had pizza with pineapple topping?

Yeah. I’d take it over anchovy.

Used to go shopping on the weekends in the middle. But yeah, during the exams it’s better to study than go out a lot.

Oh. Did it inspire you to be a doctor or you watched it later?

So? You ate what for lunch today?
