I was thinking maybe just a google group. They have the hangout/chat already built in. But if im being honest I hadnt thought about it much but im not a huge discord fan something would need to figure out, but we all also have eachothers email so I figured WORST case scenario we still have a way to contact eachother.
Of course!! feel free to use it and adjust as needed.
True and I think a Google group would work too.
With them already having a chat thingy built in. And we can can keep track in a document or spreadsheet, of the chapters we’ve read. We’ll just have to manually change it every time. Which I don’t mind doing at all.
I think thats what makes it easy about having a google only group is you know everyone already has access to the same stuff.
Ive been watching it closely and kind of thinking about it here and there but of course open to suggetions.
Of course!!
— Halfley’s Updates —
I’ve realized I was forcing myself to write a story, a thriller novel, while a story was already brewing in my head for YEARS.
So, I’ve decided to leave that thriller novel for later. And focus on this one. And of course I want to hype you guys up for it. So I have the 1st chapter summary and the plot!
(and the cover too)
Elaine is twenty-five when she finds herself without a job, painfully single and according to society: a recluse. A shut-in. She finds herself struggling with life. At 25, she’s still living at home, with only a high school diploma to speak of.
Her sister Kate, is more accomplished than her and even her brother Jesse has a steady relationship going on. But then… reality hits Elaine hard.
Online she’s known as the pretty outgoing type. Shy at first but blooms open eventually. Online, she’s who she wants to be. And it shows.
She spends hours online, playing video games. It’s in one of these games that she meets Alexander. A guy that’s part of a subculture that has evolved through the years but probably extinct.
It’s online that she can be herself around Alexander. The two start out as friends but occasionally flirt with one another. Friends tell them to get a room and the two often shrug it off. Because why would the other love them, right?
And then — Kate gets invited to go to the Podcast Festival. An annual festival held in the city. Elaine can come with. But will she be all alone there? No. Alexander decides it’s the perfect way for them to meet up. Elaine’s palms get sweaty. Her heart beats in her chest. Meet up? In real life? Elaine thinks she’s going to faint, she must faint right? All teen movies and books she has read have the protagonist feeling unwell at this point. But Elaine is suddenly hyper aware of her anxiety. She has to conquer the anxiety if she wants to meet Alexander.
At the hotel room, Kate leaves Elaine behind to prepare for a live session of her podcast. On the Case with Kate.
But then, the minutes tick by and it’s time to meet Alexander. Elaine sends him a message she can’t do it. She can’t meet him. She’s too scared. And then… then she’s standing face to face with Alexander in the doorway of her hotel room. He’s more handsome than she could have imagined. He’s her dream guy. Her dream Alexander. And would she be his Raven?
At first all seems fine, until Elaine has a panic attack. Alexander calms her down. By sitting on the bed with her and having her listen to his heartbeat. While shushing her like a mother would her child and making soft circles with his hand across her back. He’s not like other men. He’s perfect. For her, he’s perfect. For once her life is nothing but happiness.
Elaine types, ‘the end’ on a manuscript. Her husband leans over her shoulder. Another book, another pay day. Elaine has made all her dreams come true. And she looks up to her husband, Alexander, and says: “To those who dream…”
Alexander responds: “To those who wander…”
THE END
I wouldn’t mind a discord group
Im excited to read it!
Google group is a great idea! I used to have with another buddy of mine. If we wanted to pre-emptivly set up might be also a good space to share one off’s and suggestions a little easier too. I would be happy to set up if ppl want? They have a task function so can keep track of “editing tasks” for each other will work like a count down that you can tick off as opposed to writing each time in chat where we are at.

Is this site shutting down? Did I miss something? Or are we just looking for something easier?
It is unsure yet. If they cannot get the funding and enough assistance it might this summer. You can read the full thread here. ⚠️ Writing Site Shutdown, Pending Forum Closure ⚠️ - #117 by MoFoMi
Here’s chapter one! I don’t know who to mail it to and I don’t have any memorized. So I’m sharing chapter 1 this way. I’ll briefly write chapter 2 on a different document so you guys can read and comment/give feedback in peace without me making you guys jump around in the document.
I’ll be adding onto this document chapter by chapter.
Hi everyone! I’m just catching up on the latest chat and looks like there are 7 books in the rotation (plus our own):
@akaiItachi - Spells
@KnightofEmpires - Blood and Cinders
@TMinx804 - Smear
@Vintaginity - Cake Toppers
@CarlaBlack - Ornella’s Fable
@Shea - Throne of Misery
@Halfley - To Catch a Dream
I was struggling with 5! Any tips for managing 7 for those of you who have been doing this a while?
Oh, and I like the sound of a discord as that would maybe help me stay on track.
Lol as someone who has been playing catch up for a while I am not the person to ask. But I would say try and stay on top of a chap a week per person if youy can and set aside time every night ( like one chap each day of the week) or a day where you know you have time to smash some out.
I was getting lost between all the stories when I was reading a chapter of each every week.
What suit me more is reading a couple chapters of 1 to 3 story every week, more or so. It’s easier to follow through and keep a track of the stories and characters
Hey, here’s my update:
@akaiItachi - Spells - Ch5
@TMinx804 - Smear - Ch5
@Vintaginity - Cake Toppers - Ch5
@CarlaBlack - Ornella’s Fable - Ch5
@Shea - Throne of Misery - Ch4
@Halfley - To Catch a Dream - Ch1
@KnightofEmpires - Blood and Cinders - Ch1 (Appreciate you’ve completely caught up on mine so I’ll try to do multiple chapters of yours over the next few weeks).
I’m really bad at doing reactionary comments, but it’s not because I don’t love your stories. Instead, I’m just doing edits, then leaving a comment at the end of each chapter. I’ll try to get better at the commenting!
I’ve also added Chapter 6 to Jude. I might add 7 & 8 if I can get them ready today.
