It’s inevitability with a justice system that some innocent people will be condemned.
Not wrong, but would it go up with beings that are nearly incapable of thought?
It wouldn’t entirely be unintelligent undead
Well okay that’s true.
This cute? I wouldn’t even blink. Dey be bebes.
The right attitude!
I don’t talk or show it all the time but I can put the mother in smothering.
Haha it won’t be until I stop using it for good
Yeah, everyone in the book has magic. The way this works is that there’s this thing called Grace, which is basically the river of Life, and people can control it based on their ability to control it.
So everyone can control it based on how much their ability and stamina for using it is. In the Western Isles, this is what happens. In Arya, where the story takes place, the knowledge that everyone can be magical has been lost to the ages (some can even say it was buried deliberately )
Alright.
So, the world of Alterra is massive and I know that it is massive, but there is so much to explain and explore. Yet I don’t wanna be those writers who reveals every single thing about their story’s world/setting. However, I can’t help but to want to explore and reveal things about Alterra in order to fully understand the planet and to just because I love this world.
Like my imagination for Alterra is so strong and immense that I keep adding and changing things to suit my needs. Still, Alterra is a massive yet vast world that I refuse to infodump about when I write the story.
So many stories to tell and so much to write about. I just hope I can finish this story before I become an elderly woman.
I want it to be Alterra’s time…hopefully.
Question: What are some of the weirdest jobs in your fantasy universe?
Mine would have to be god’s vessels and all of the priests and servants surrounding them.
This is an interesting question.
I guess the Sweepers would be considered weird or at least somewhat.
What do they do?
The people who herd manatees
They clean out/purge Outer Zones which are landfill villages home to the Blanks.
They do this so there is less waste and trash so that the Sweepers can make it into a clean slate. They do this so that the nation can build something there. The Sweepers can even kill Blank (poor and homeless people) who refuse to leave.
Anymore questions???
oooh
How is citizenship decided in Alterra?
It is global caste system.
Divines: The Sovereign and their imperial court.
Regals: Other royalty and nobility.
Patricians: The rich and famous/celebrities.
Clerks: Common folk/Common people.
Blanks: The poor, homeless, and poverty-stricken.
Magic in my universe can only be manipulated by those of demon heritage so I’d have to be a (part)demon. Personally, I’d love to be an Empyreal because they have wings.
Unless I was a dragon. That’d be even better.
There are a lot of limitations to how magic can be used in this universe. Being a runecaster doesn’t make one all-powerful. It’s more like a tool of convenience but it would be a nice trick to have.
Unless I was a Creator. Those are basically gods with unlimited power then I’d be able to create my own universes.
But I have created my own universe…
Therefore, I’m a Creator.
Therefore, magic is real!
Smail Officer.
Not because of what the job is, that’s pretty easy to explain (messenger) but because who can be a smail officer.
Smail stands for snail mail, literal snail mail = mail delivered by snails.
Why does it have to be snails?
Who else would you have deliver mail? Cheetahs?
But to be serious, these are snails of telehelix species - land snails known for their teleporting abilities.
