Here you will find a compilation of free stock photo websites to use for your covers and other designs or projects.
Please keep in mind that just because an image is on a “free/royalty free/etc” site doesn’t always guarantee that every single photo is 100% free to use everywhere and manipulated in any way.
Sometimes, a photo or two gets slipped in there that doesn’t have the same licenses as others so just as a word of precaution, to be completely safe, do a reverse search. Google “ How to reverse search images” or “How to check if image is copyright free” for tips on how to do a reverse search.
Also, be sure to check out the “About” page or “FAQs” page on each website to familiarize yourself with their terms and conditions in which you can use the photos. Though a lot are similar, some have more specific rules or definitions.

Besides Pixabay, Pexels, Unsplash, there’s some lesser known ones.
Some of these websites are run like Unsplash, in which they gather fair usage photos.
But there are some in this list that are complied by one specific photographer, and it is their personal collection that they are opening up for public use.
Note that some may have some of the same photos.
