Superior & Inferior Vena Cava & Coronary Sinus
Bicuspid/ Mitral Valve
Arteries carry blood away from heart.
Veins carry blood to heart.
Did you know that all bleeding stops?
Systole – Contraction
Diastole – Relaxation
of heart chambers
When AV valves close – S1
When Semilunar valves close – S2
AV valves -> Tricuspid & Mitral (Bicuspid) Valves.
Semilunar valves -> Pulmonary & Aortic Valves.
There are 5 types of Leukocytes (white blood cells):
Neutrophils – fights bacterial infections
Eosinophils – fights parasites and involved in allergic responses
Basophils – allergic response
Lymphocytes – remembers infections / vaccines
Monocytes – phagocytes (macrophages)
the superior mesenteric artery goes to the right side aka small intestine
the inferior mesenteric artery goes to the left side aka descending colon

Lymph Nodes filter lymph.
While the spleen filters the blood.
you are born with innate (non-specific resistance) immunity
aka skin, tears, saliva, mucus, mucous membrane
they prevent entry or remove microbes
you gain adaptive (specific) immunity
your body recognizes a particular substance(s)
& your body can remember it & then respond to it rapidly if it is something bad
Thymus is over your heart
Thyroid is in your throat
Colon – ascending, transverse, descending
The liver produces bile while the gallbladder stores it
