Halloween is almost here in two weeks. Anybody watching spooky, scary movies?

No.

That was a weird movie, not gonna lie.

it was, I didn’t like it the first time around but this time it was decent. I think because the first time I was expecting it to be more demon scary where it’s actually more psychological.

The Babadook prop (like the monster itself when it looks like a Party City scarecrow zooming toward the mom) is still not my favourite though.

Have you ever seen The Ritual or No one gets out alive?

Both are on Netflix.

Against my better judgement, I gave The Strangers Chapter 2 a try tonight. Couldn’t finish it. Between the lead actor having no idea how to act (although she did show some emotion in the hour I got through, versus no emotion at all in Chapter 1) and the fact this isn’t The Stranger besides the masks they chose to use, I am once again let down. I assume they wanted to make a horror but nobody would let them, so they jumped on whatever IP they could remake.

I’ve watched a couple of movies so far: 28 Days Later, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Silence of the Lambs, plus The Ritual (though that was before October started, so dunno if it counts XD)

Planning to watch Psycho next, maybe Nightmare Before Christmas

It was great watching it!

As an update, I have now watched both Psycho and TNBC, now thinking of what others I could watch

I’ve heard of both but watched neither. I’m supposed to watch the Wicker Man (1978) this week.

Thanks for letting me know.

Train to Busan is on my list too :eyes:

So is Skinamarink. I watched a few reviews of it when it came out, particularly from Amanda the Jedi, and they all seem to agree with this

But it could still be a study in weird or ā€œartisticā€ horror.

Is this based on the Lovecraft story?
