Has anyone ever heard of Allie Michelle or her company Pen2Publish

So i just got offthephone with some9ne from Pen2publish. They are a company that provides courses for aspiring writers tofinishtheir books and publidh them, whether is self puishing otraditional publishing. Even offer guidance in getting copyrights for your stories and finding editors.

I want to know if anyone has heard much on pen2publish? And what your thoughts are on it.
This is thewebsite ( www-.pen2publish.co

If you have the money to burn and it offers what you want (ideally in the genre you write in), go for it! Doesn’t appear to be a scam per se. If you would rather save 1k, everything they offer excluding Allie’s consulting is free. I would assume she has the most experience in Religious Poetry, going off her sales.

And just to tackle what you’ve mentioned in your post itself:

Finishing your book is squarely on you. I see that this course offers prompts and whatnot - as an alternative, you can find free prompts online, in Discord servers, on forums, and elsewhere. Tons of em!

Publishing is a long treck, but there’s guidance for this online, too. I won’t speak to trad as I’m self pubd, but there’s thousands of supportive communities for self-published authors and those aspiring to it. It can be complicated, or as simple as “get cover, write blurb, hit publish on Amazon KDP”. IF they’re offering a bespoke marketing plan alongside it, might be worth it - but it’ll be cheaper hiring an independent marketing consultant or service provider.

You already own the copyrights. You can file trademarks and additional copyrights at your countries copyright office (this costs money usually, and isn’t something a lot of people do)

Reedsy, Fiverr (ehhh…), indie editors (there’s even some here, including me, I believe!), Upwork, so on and so forth. If you’re not sure what type of editing you need, most editors will help you figure that out, and there’s breakdowns online, too.

Thank you. I didn’t think it was a scam, but i wanted to be safe.
My book is finished, its the editing on trying to work on. I dont eveveeveven know who to go to for that, or who to trust with my story.
I am curious on looking at the pros and cons on self publishing over trad.

Well, I’ve given you a few reccs on where to go for editing above - Reedsy is fully vetted so might be worth a look!
In terms of the pros and cons, you can find tons of people discussing their personal experiences online ^^ To me it boils down to this:

Do you want complete freedom over your book (such as making sequels, changes, a book cover you want, control over edits etc)?

There’s more involved to it than that, obviously. When you self-publish, the whole shebang is up to you - this means the cover, the editing, all of the marketing is on you. You’re also financially on the hook for that upfront, and a lot of authors never make that money back (but there’s ways to do all of the above for absolutely free other than the time it takes). Some genres sell WAY better when they’re self published. Romance being the one genre that really tips the financial scales in terms of indie vs trad.

With traditional, you won’t pay anything up front, but you do lose the rights to your own work and creative world in 99.9999% of cases, and you’ll have to do the marketing yourself, too. But, you aren’t on the hook for the cover, editing, or any of that (and you probably won’t get much, if any, say on those). And again on the genre front, you may find it better to try traditional publishing for mystery/thriller, and some types of fantasy.

There’s pros and cons to both, and whilst you CAN pay this company to explain the differences, this information is all free online - and you can come back here with questions that you’d like to ask!

Oh wow. Thank you!!!
I was already leaning towards self-publish since i want complete freedom over my book but my mother(parents are always rhe wise ones) advised me to weigh my options and thd pros and cons
