Help with main character

I started writing my Wattys entry and I am 6k in, but the focus of the main character is shifting toward another character. Should I focus on him, or focus on them both? The story’s name is based off the original main character, but the other character is much more interesting than him.

I say go where the story takes you. You can always go back and edit later to change the protagonist if it turns out you like this other character better, but there’s also a chance the original MC will work well with this other character and you can focus on them both. Just keep writing what feels right and then go back and make edits when you’re done.
