How would this turn out in your style? [Something about romance]

So, I was planning my story, just doing some thinking. Then, the thought of the MC’s romance came to mind. Note: This is a fantasy novel, with only a dash of romance for spice.

So, the context: MC fell in love with this guy (Harvey) who reminded him of his lost memories, cause he was a childhood friend. They were a thing for quite a while until the MC’s rival (accidentally) killed Harvey. Things happened in the story and the MC basically got isekai’d (died and got transported to another world) to another world. There he met Alyx. MC didn’t initially fall in love with her. He actually had a thing with another man named, Enzi. However, that didn’t go well cause Imani was actually already taken. There, MC got with Alyx. MC and Alyx formed a family. Now, the conflict in this romance is the sudden reappearance of Harvey. Know that MC is immortal and has lived like thousands of years already after the reappearance of Harvey. Alyx knows how special and important Harvey is to MC and she respects and understands that. She’s not even jealous of Harvey when MC started to hangout (no hanky panky ofc) with Harvey.

My dilemma now is, would it actually be fine to have Alyx let go of MC? MC has no intention of leaving Alyx, but he also loves Harvey. Alyx also has no intention of breaking the two up. And Harvey has no intention of being a homewrecker. How would this turn out in your way?

Bump

MC has two hands for a reason. Poly ship.

I was actually thinking a polygamous relationship :joy::sweat_smile:. Alyx has no resentment towards Harvey or the MC. In fact, it made her happy seeing MC happy in a way that wasn’t shown to her before. Look, MC is a broken man, he’s witnessed deaths of his loved ones and Harvey is like the only relic of his past.

I wonder if that would work

I think it could work, and it’s always nice to see actually healthy poly relationships in media. So many times it’s turned into a boring and usually toxic love triangle and that’s so overdone.

I don’t know, man, I have seen enough imperial Chinese dramas to know that harems are headaches…

That’s because that is not a healthy polyamorous relationship. It’s one man owning several women and is toxic. That’s not how poly relationships are supposed to look.

Ah OK

Yeah, definitely not a harem. There’s mutual respect to and among all parties involved.

Ah, OK. I wouldn’t understand because dealing with one person already annoys me.
