How's your hair length going these days?

Going by the chart, where is your hair length now?

Sorry if the picture is of a woman, but I wanted to make this thread for the ladies.

Are you happy with the hair length now or do you wish it was short or perhaps longer?

Thoughts and feelings?

When it cools off I want to chop it down to chin length, but right now that would mean it would be clinging to the back of my neck in this heat, which would drive me nuts. It’s about shoulder length now so I can put it up in a high pony tail and get it off my back, face and neck. ( ^◔^)ć£āœ‚

Its reaching the shoulder blades at the moment, which is on the longer end of my ā€œusualā€ range. After a certain length I usually get annoyed from how hot it gets and chop it back to shoulder-length or a little past them 030

The charts a little hard to understand so for anyone confused, Classic Length is just underneath the butt, lol. Mines tailbone length. I’m growing it down to perhaps classic, but its currently really damaged - I left it wet and in a claw clip (all bunched up) for 3 days so now it’s wrecked. Hoping I don’t have to cut it all off because the hair inside the clip went kinda up to my chin lol

Sorry that the chart didn’t help. I tried to find the best one I could.
Is your hair naturally straight?

It isn’t, haha. My hairs wavy  I sadly didn’t get my nans glorious curls. Got some new clarifying shampoo so gonna go scrub the lengths and hopefully defeat the demon of Protein Overload TM

Wow!

So, you’re never going to cut your hair a tad shorter? You love your length at the moment.

Here it is, stringy, half-wet, damaged to hell and back  It is very dense, so I hope I can fix it.

And nope, I don’t want to lose any length at all. Classic length is my goal but I want it in a v-shape so it tapers. It already does in this pic because it’s in a banana clip, but I would not want short hair - my hair is very important to me, even if it is a fussy princess!!

Ah, you love the look.

From the picture your hair is lovely. I wonder if it is heavier when wet or when it is dry it is about the same. Is it?

Just out of curiosity.

Thank you, yes my hair was lovely until I ruined it. I started using a new shampoo and conditioner that really made the waves look beautiful and bouncy… and then I wrecked it. Lol.

Its hard to say, it definitely does hold a lot of water but becauseit clumps up into curls when wet it is easier to put in a clip than when dry, so… I guess heavier, but also more manageable?

I should add that my hair, whilst very long and VERY DENSE (I have a LOT of it, I shed like a dog but never seem to lose any fullness), is also very fine. The strands themselves are miniscule

What made you ruin it? Was it the shampoo and conditioner? I was about to ask for the brand name, but since you live in the UK—the brands are probably different from the US.

Do you have a hair stylist or do you do your own hair?

My conditioner and shampoo are actually wonderful, haha. It’s an American company, I order direct from the US - it’s called Kitsch. My hair was very frizzy, lifeless and boring but when I swapped to the rice water protein, my hair became beautiful. Shiny and bouncy and all good things.

What did it for me was not the Kitsch products - they are amazing - but leaving my hair wet and basically forcing it to stay wet for 3 days. Because it never dried, it just got really damaged and hit with protein overload (because I was using two protein products). I now have to try and get rid of all that excess protein and whatever the hell else is in there - I also dyed my hair with henna a few months ago, black from white blonde :face_holding_back_tears: So… it was probably time for it to go nasty.

I do my own hair as I don’t trust stylists. It is both harder and easier when it is this long. I can’t follow most tutorials because my arms are literally not long enough to reach the ends of my hair, but likewise I can cut the back in front of me, no problem. I just have a pair of cute hair shears and a dream, lol

That’s a lot that happened. But now at least you know what to do when you wash your hair. Make sure you dry it thoroughly. LOL!

I haven’t been to a hair salon in years. For my hair I just want to cut it short and move on. I used to have longer hair, but caring for it was a hassle.

Still, I love the different hairstyles for long haired people and looking at long hair.

Ha yep, no more claw clips unless it is totally dry :sweat_smile:

I think short hair looks great! It’s beautiful and seems so easy to manage.

That’s good.

Thank you very much.
