I had an experience with both my MRI scan and EEG scan!

So, I got my MRI sometime in January or sometime in February. Though I got my EEG scan today. That was an experience along with the MRI.

I don’t mean that in a good way. The difference between the MRI scan and the EEG scan was the bad experience I had previously at the place I got the EEG scan. The first experience was terrible, yet the second time wasn’t as bad, yet I was still miserable. While getting the EEG scan, I had to be uncomfortable in order for them to figure out what’s going on with my brain. Seriously, an hour and ten minutes of being in an uncomfortable position and my body was screaming at me along with being overwhelmed and stressed. I did not know it was going to be a little over an hour. I thought it would be twenty to thirty minutes long, I actually hoped it would be that. I wasn’t prepared for that even when the appointment was set in stone.

My thoughts were all over the place and negative. I kept tossing and turning while dealing with a headache, but I couldn’t do much because I had to stay in a fixed position. I had wires glued to my head and both my arms which made it harder for me to get comfortable to an extent.

I have three weeks to learn the results from the MRI scan and the EEG scan. The neurologist is going to tell me what he gathered from the testing.

The MRI scan was bothersome too. I’m not claustrophobic (at least I don’t think so), the many sounds were grating as hell and I was a bit uncomfortable, meaning I was placed in an uncomfortable position.

So, in three weeks, I will learn what is going on with me.

Thoughts and feelings?

This was my first time getting an MRI (though I felt I had that experience before. I couldn’t tell you why I would) and my first EEG scan. Both experiences were bizarre and terribly uncomfortable to me.

Thank goodness they’re over, though! That means the worst part is behind you, eh? Or do they want you to take still more tests in the future? I’ve never had to get either of these done, but I hope now that I never do. Sounds like misery! ( -.-)\(^◡^ )

Unless the results tell me that I don’t have what I have, then yes, I would have to go through that again. Until I get the accurate results that I needed to hear and anything else, another test will happen in the future.

I hope it will be a little different than the ones I’ve had.
Honestly, I don’t know.

As someone who gets these things waaaaaayyyyyyyy too often, I hate to say it but you do get used to it  It sounds like you did very well for your first time! Hopefully your results will show something that will be helpful in helping you.

I was masking which is why I had to get used to it. Imagine if I wasn’t masking, I would cause a scene of sorts.

Thanks though.

Can’t even begin to imagine how much more stress that would have added ;-; Proud of you btw, forgot to put that in the other message :joy:

Sounds like a lot. Hopefully the results are satisfactory.

I was getting some routine tests done the other week and I was convinced my nurse was a vampire lol. She was like “You have good flow! You have so much blood to share!” It was hilarious.

LMAO!

Good flow? I wish I knew what that was like! Getting blood drain from me is a little challenging for nurses. No one can ever find the vein for a bit.

Honestly, modern medical science is often torture. It’s not surprising you had a hard time with this.

The only good thing is you know what’s coming, next time you have to do this, and have more information in your hands–to either prepare for the discomfort OR to decide if it’s not necessary enough to go through again.

Thanks for that!
