I love the little free libraries idea!

I see it a lot on some YouTuber vlogs. I love the idea so much that I want to do my own version of it. Though I live in a garden apartment complex opposed to a house. Still, I love to try that for a community thing.

The idea behind the little libraries is taking a book or two for free then putting a new book there in return. I find that so cool and thoughtful! Unfortunately, I live nowhere near a little library but I still think about making the idea for my community.

I just don’t know if I should tell city hall or the apartment or some other place. Do I just do it on my own without saying anything? I want to place it in the park since I live in an apartment. That is why asking was something that I wanted to do.

I really admire that idea.

Most of the YouTubers live near or in areas where there are people that do that. I don’t live anywhere like that.

Just something that I found to be cool.

I understand that actual public libraries exist and thrift stores as well. Not everyone wants to utilize that and I find the whole giving and receiving idea for free much sweeter.

I love the idea too! I’ve seen several of them around town, but I’ve never gotten out of the car to take a look at them. There are also some restaurants here, like Perkins, that have a bookcase in the foyer with a sign inviting you to take the books you want and donate books if you can. It is sweet. (ღ˘ᴗ˘ღ)

If you want to put it in the city park, I’d definitely get permission from the city first, otherwise you could get in legal trouble and nobody wants that. Or you could ask your landlord or apartment manager if you want to do it there. I think it’s a great idea, but you definitely want to make sure it’s okay to do it first, wherever you decide to do it.

Yeah, there is a park in front of my apartment. I was thinking about city hall or something like that.

When I went to the states, my aunt used this app to find free little libraries and we went free little library hunting. Some people make them look so cute! I got a book and brought it all the way back to Japan :wink: It is now mine

Apparently there’s like an association or something and you have to register your free little library to the association that way people can find yours

If you want to put it in the park, you’ll have to see who owns the park. Usually see them in the neighborhoods.

Usually they have locks on them and you have to make them so no rain or anything would get inside.
