Aright, I mostly stick to manga and webcomics when it comes to reading.
I tried so hard with audiobooks and with physical books to read, but when it comes to physical books, I severely struggle. I cannot retain what I’ve read nor can I visualize what I am reading. I can’t picture anything when it comes to words. So, reading manga and webcomics is more my speed because the pictures are there. I don’t have to struggle to see anything since there’s artwork.
Because of this I can’t see myself becoming a published author at all. Writers need to read widely and extensively if they want to get better at the craft. Since I can only enjoy manga and webcomics, I believe that pursuing being an author won’t work. I don’t have a method to aid me because I can’t seem to find one at all.
I mean it’s fine, I wasn’t taking myself seriously about wanting to get published anyway. Those were merely delusions of grandeur and me fantasizing about what if.
So, what does that mean for me? Nothing, except I will still keep writing fiction, I just won’t publish anything. I no longer want to fight myself for what I love. So, I am letting a dream die and burying it for good.
This is also me, but I often read and re-read a paragraph a few time to fully imagine what is portrayed by the author… I feel like this happens a lot from feedback that I have had also… I guess we visualise and put down in a way that many these days seem to misunderstand, or struggle to see… Maybe the media of Video Games has given rise to this as it is all there to see, and little description is needed… Who knows, but I may be on to something here…
Bullshit! You write what you perceive, and nothing more… If some don’t get it it is down to them… You are the KIng or Queen of your craft… “The rule of Gondor is mine!… And no others!” :- Denathor Steward of Gondor.
Don’t give up on your dreams, but don’t feel like you have failed yourself it you do not become published… There are folk out there who want to read your works regardless…

You never know… It may happen in time…
You should never be fighting what you love, or have a talent for… Your creativity is outstanding from what I know of your works. The rich world and the peoples and creatures that dwell within your imagined creation is more than millions could ever conceive… Remember that when you feel like giving up…
No, you are not… This is just a blip, just a moment of doubt. What you have already constructed within your creative ability to realise a world that is full of history, peoples, lore, and governing laws of each Sovereign State and lands… Never mind the descriptions of all that happens within, and the detailed lands, the rocky outcrops, the Mist (Which I really like), and so much more that you have… This is all your doing, from your creative mind… That is pure gold to me, and to others too…
You can create something so deeply conceived, so rich in detail, so full of history… That is a gift in itself…
Keep writing this tale, keep enriching your created world, this is not a fruitless endeavour, it is you… This tale you wish to tell is truly yourself, and others, no matter how few will be better off for reading it…
We all have a tale or two to tell… But if we tell them not, we cannot enrich the world further, not pass them on…
My dreams have already died. I’m just clinging on for unknown reasons. If I want to take writing and publishing seriously, I have to do just that. The problem is that I can’t take it seriously because it stresses me out and overwhelms me as well.
I think it’s great that you have decided to continue writing just for you. Publishing doesn’t have to be the only goal in writing, and I think the most important part of writing should always be to have fun. As long as you are just writing for your own enjoyment, I think you will find great auccess in pursuing that goal, rather than publishing. I wish you all the best with this new change.
Then write it for you, and no other… Finish it, draw a line under it, and then worry not…
Stories are not just told, often they are released, but most often they escape… Where they end up, no one can guess… But it starts with the first line, the first thought, and without it nothing comes of it…
Set a personal goal to finish it, and only focus on that… The “What to do with it?”… That comes later…
I believe you have something special in what you have created so far, and what it may become in time… Write it, for you only… Then for others… This is a mistake many will make. They write for an audience instead of staying true to themselves and writing the tale that they want…
I often say “Write the stories you want to read, and no others.” And I honestly believe that…
For if I wrote The Endurlon for a desired modern audience I’d have less history, lore, and a more cinematic handsomely influenced main cast of male characters alongside busty and sexualised female leads… But I do not, and I will not… For that is not real… Nor is it my tale to tell…
Write it for you… Finish what you have worked so hard to create… You can do this!
Do not become the destroyer of your works, for you have done so much, and more that many ever could… Finish what you have started, and then the rest will follow when you are ready to take that direction…
