I'm in that head space where I don't know what to do...

I’m in that weird head space where I’m not sure if I want to start a new story or continue my fifth draft or to give up on my fifth draft. I can’t figure out what to do.

Maybe I am overthinking it, but I’m get to that point where I don’t know what to do.

Start a new story or focus on my current story.

I must apologize for not making sense. I am tired and distracted.

Does anyone have this problem? What are your thoughts and feelings?

Honestly? Take a break for a day or two if you’re tired/distracted. It will help a lot :people_hugging: It always helps me. You become refreshed and look at things clearer afterwards.

If you let your moods dictate your writing, you won’t ever finish anything. Which is fine if it’s just a hobby. But if you are serious about getting published, you can’t just give up because you don’t feel like it anymore. Especially when moods are fickle and change often. If you feel burnt out on one story, take a break and do other things for a bit, or write other things for a bit, but don’t just abandon one project for another because you get bored.

I did go back to writing. Got in 835 words into the chapter.

So, I’m pleased about that. I just need to go back.

I guess I was just in a weird head space earlier because I was tired and distracted.

Usually that means you need to take a break. Ideas should start coming more and you’ll probably be in a better headspace after that

I remember that I have ADHD, and I need the threat of something worse to distract me into writing.
