This is so called Comparison Titles. It makes it easy for agents to imagine what shelf your book would go to in a book store
Thank you
Never heard about this
The only bookshelves in a bookstore I know are divided by genres basically
It’s the big deal in pitching in the past couple of years.
I have a marginally off-topic Q, because my memory is failing me… But did Golden Pear by any chance get featured as an editor’s pick on Wattpad recently? I seem to remember clocking it somewhere that wasn’t Wacky and I just can’t place it
Not any I would be aware of
My only guess is you may have seen it “The Best For You” section on the home page. I’ve seen there a few times NinRai (my other book) which was in the “Finished Stories” section. I’ve seen it there twice
But I haven’t noticed GP there, but I don’t check it that often
If I was featured, it did exactly what I thought it would - nothing
Thank you for the thought. My only other feature was/is on YA Wattpad account
Ohhh I see, then it must have been one of those recommendations lists, haha. I think I was mixing them up because I rarely look at those (since mostly they recommend me my own stories or stuff I’ve already read lol). Sorry haha. And good luck with your pitch!
No problem
and Thank you
Okay… I am going to put all my pitches out the second time in about an hour, and that’s it. No likes, so… yeah.
thank you for the retweets everyone!
Good luck. Hopefully one comes in.
Thank you, and it didn’t happen, but my pitches are becoming better and better…
Pitmad’s always like a lottery anyway. Definitely, your pitches are good.
I’m horrid for pitching cause I can never get the jingle right. I make a dud content marketer
Thank you. Just treat them like poetry, I guess?
