Summary: The world is falling apart around Raine, everyone is turning away to go to work at the royal palace as advisors, where her parents, too are. And she still has two years before graduation to go there. But the royal family is murdered, the palace destroyed, and the country sent into chaos. Through it all, she has to find her family and friends and try to save them. At one point in the story, she is convicted of regicide. She manages to escape. In the end, somehow, maybe she rises to queendom.

Ideas: A palace at the bottom, giving way to flames that become red near the center of the cover. At the top, we see a woman’s cut off- face, the neck and lower body fading into the flames, and lots of embers floating around.
