That’s far from the first song I’ve ever written though, it’s just the first one I made on FAWM, and literally the first one that came from FAWM since it was from one of the prompts on there. I’ve been writing songs since around 5th grade, so basically like 10 yrs. Hbu?
I’ve been writing books since I was 4, so about 22 years now.
Music, I’ve been writing intermittently my whole life, mainly lyrics that never get put to tracks.
I only recently a few months ago really invested time in making anything though.
So if you’ve been writing songs for 10 years, you’ve gotta start pushing stuff out!

Yeah same! Like I can make a tune to go with my lyrics and I hear the song in my head, but I don’t have any way to make the music for them. Which is why I’m really glad I found the producers. I’m actually taking a course later this summer to help me learn more about producing so I can start trying to do that on my own, besides working with others. So I’ll definitely be able to use Beepboxx during that time, thanks! I would try and use it now but- easy is a relative term when you know literally nothing about producing features XD so I’m lost looking at it right now. But I look forward to understanding it better!
Here’s this one, it’s also technically inspired by a FAWM prompt, but with a different producer and my voice is actually in it. Also, it purely came from the title, which is from this generator FAWM pointed to- you had to pick one of a list of generated titles and write some lyrics from it. I liked this title bc it also reminded me of writing novels lol, so I figured I’d give it a shot. And I was able to get one of the producers there to work on it, so this is what came out!
Damn! That sounds like something you’d hear at a country rock bar during a scene where the main character comes in to kick ass

God… Breaking the Habit, Castle of Glass, Somewhere I Belong, What I’ve Done, Numb… so many good ones.
I’m not much a fan of the new stuff though, too much AI, not enough honest soul. I hate to see everyone going that way, especially those who had worked so hard to get to where they are now relying on the cheap way out. Just feels like an insult to Chester’s death, and all the emo kids who grew up with his music.
But, maybe that’s just me.

Yeah I mean arguably all of their music is good, although my fave album is Minutes to Midnight. But like the first 3 albums are super nostalgic for me tbh.
Ok which songs are you talking about? The only “new” stuff I’ve heard is from Mike himself releasing previously unreleased tracks from the Hybrid and Meteora eras. And ofc Friendly Fire that was supposed to be on One More Light. I honestly don’t mind what I’ve heard from One More Light, however my sister’s not that into it. Not bc she thinks it’s not good, but bc it reminds her too much of that time surrounding Chester’s death, which I can’t really blame her for. But I still like it.
I do see what you mean about people using AI for music though, not to mention novels. I can understand using it for small help, but actually using it to write an entire novel? Like that’s kinda cheating to me lol-
“Lost” I think was the first of those “previously unreleased tracks,” and the whole thing was AI. From the music video, to even Chester’s voice. It didn’t sound like him, too many minor errors if you really listen to it, like his voice catches mid-word in a way only AI would, stuff like that. I can’t speak for the rest of the “unreleased tracks” though, since that first one was so bad it turned me off to the whole thing.

Dang. I mean- I never heard any of that and neither did my sister, and we legit loved the song… but I mean I’m sure Mike wouldn’t have used AI to help complete the song if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. If Chester had been around, he could have actually rerecorded the vocals and/or completed them. But since he wasn’t, Mike used what was available to still be able to release the recordings for the fans. Tbh I think he did a good job, bc I didn’t realize he used AI, if that’s what he did.

What bugs me is that it just feels disrespectful. I don’t think Mike would mean it that way, but that’s how it comes off. I would’ve rather had a dirty/unfinished track.
On the other hand, he’s good enough to make his own stuff, and he could’ve left well enough alone.
It’s the fact that it is definitely AI, and they’re saying it’s not. I think that’s what’s messed up the most.

Yeah I can understand that. Well from what I’m reading. apparently an AI music video came out for Lost, so maybe that’s why there’s now an audio version with AI? Idk, I mean if Mike is the one saying it’s not AI, then I’d believe him. He doesn’t come across as someone who’d just do that on a whim or lie about it, esp since Chester was his best friend. He’d at least own up to it if he did do it.
That’s kinda what I mean. The whole thing just feels wrong. There’s no reason why “mnyeh,” but “mnyeh” anyway, y’know?
I tend to just stay out of that type of thing.
I’m not saying you can’t enjoy it, or that you shouldn’t, by the way. Just, sharing my thoughts on it and still kinda hoping I’m wrong.

Yeah I’m kinda there now too tbh, like I’ll still listen to it but I definitely will be listening more closely now, and hoping that there’s actually no AI in there 
The world’s a crazy place right now, getting harder and harder to tell the difference between honest creativity and fabrications meant to block the market from honest creators.
All we can do is keep creating and hope it floats over the ocean of slop, and shovel out anything we know for certain to be slop.

For sure. Creativity is one of the only things that makes this world interesting, and if that is taken from us, I don’t even want to know what kind of world it would be tbh.
