Need feedback on my new cover (REVISED)

I could use some feedback. I’ve tried to draw something for a new cover… I lost count how many times, but I think I like this close up portrait the best. What do you think?

First version

Does it work? Any more color corrections you think it needs? Is it too blue or just the right amount of blue?

I’m so glad for having found this font (Para). I tried so many. lol

But I wonder, should the subtitle have a “A” in front of it? A Medium of Eidolon Falls Novel?

I hope to finally create a cover I could take to print, so no pressure, but it has to be the best it can be.

UPDATE:
I ran a poll on Threads regarding to “A” or not to “A” and the results are in. “A” is going in.

I made further revisions to the drawing. Now I’m experimenting with color adjustments.

Which do you prefer?

Would you fix anything else?

amazing! blue is the right amount. but I would really add “the” to the middle text bit.

I don’t think “The” is right (makes it sound like the one and only when it’s the opposite). “A” is more likely.

Personally, I don’t like that the lips are very pink/orange compared to the rest of the picture. It makes them look out of place and slapped on rather than a natural part of the picture. If the lighting is blue, it should reflect that. It’s okay to use the pink/orange color as a separate, secondary light source, but having it just focussed on his lips like that seems weird and makes for an awkward image. Other than that, I really like the linework and the font fits well with the title. Adding an ‘A’ to the middle part would make it flow better, I think.

Someone else suggested to desaturate the lip color since it stands out too much but you’re right. It needs blue too.

Sounds like I’ve got a list of edits already

OK, then do what you think is right!

Tagging @lunar.eclipse, @Xelyn_Craft since you responded before.

I made revisions and updated the post. What do you think?

Idk what previous versions looked like, but I like the second one because of the contrast with the light and shadow.

I do like 1, but it’s a little too bright. Maybe if 1 had the same kind of shading like 2. The shading under the eye, around the mouth, and the hair gives good contrast and nice, gritty feel to the cover. I’m assuming it’s some kind of dystopian story.

I like 1 because the skin tone matches the lips a little more and looks more natural.

“isobel” is kinda hard to read, so I would suggest somehow moving it. to makw it more legible.

Well, that clears it up, lol.

I went with # 2 since it’s better at showing off details.

A few more artwork edits later and I’ve got myself a cover.
Look at it. Look at it! It looks like a book!

I can’t wait to print it at last.
