They weren’t but a few steps behind her, crossing the hidden culvert, rounding one of the largest live oaks out in the woods to find a bird-woman flailing around on the ground with a snare around her neck and left wing.
“That’s got to be the biggest rotisserie chicken I’ve ever seen.” Liam’s words were hollow, denying the mud-splattered face of a woman who looked eerily like Jamie.

Igor smiled at him as he watched them draw their cards. Nandi let out a smirk at Franco, as he pulled his hand Skippy watched him too.
“Damn, you suck at this.” Nandi said with a laugh.
Franco sighed as he threw his cards down onto the pile. “Shut up. I needa focus and win this. For my koi sons.”
Aurelio rolled his eyes. “They’re just dumb fish. They can’t spend shit.”
Franco glared. “Yo, they need the money for good care. If I die, then it’s split between ‘em all.”
