I am having a hell of a time sorting through all my old ideas…as this often helps me narrow down any choices I have for ONC.
I’m doing it more conservatively this year: 2, at most. Unless I finish my 1st draft in Feb, the. I’ll take on a 3rd.

Was it two or three years ago you tried to do eight at once? Two isn’t a lot for you, even three. I will probably just do one this year, and maybe two if I am really keen and can’t choose between prompts.

I’ve honestly given up posting on WP and not sure I will have the time to participate, but I am still very curious about the prompts, too.
Same, really. If one of them strikes my fancy, I might try to apply it to one of my WIPs offline.

Yeah, because last year they leaned into that (dumb, imo) secret society quill thing too much or whatever it was. I felt really alienated, and so did some other people who don’t write exclusively fantasy and romance so I hope they changed it this year.

Yeah. The first part wasn’t the issue. I finished about 4, close to 5 that year.
Its the doing this for 3 months part. I want the worst done in the 1st, just done. Maybe into the 2nd, but not the 3rd.

Yeah that was weird 
but also you can’t do anything on WP without being overrun by scambots and I just can’t be bothered to deal with it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Three months is a long time. Doing the worst one first is actually a good idea.

SciFi would be good, imo.
So many good prompts this year. I have several that I could genuinely work with, based off characters that I have. Here are some that I really like:
I have several characters that could fit this prompt easily.
I like these both, they could even go together but I think I could easily write about the first one the easiest because I have two characters fitting that exact prompt and both of them are pretty old lol
Both of these are also great. Especially the latter.
82 could be a good one, if I could use flashbacks properly. 63 is a Mayan temple appearing in Angel Falls and 68 reminds me of Unwritten by Natasha Beddingfield lol
44 would be a dumb club story, 45 is about an angry character and 46 would be a romance, maybe a second chance one.
21 would be interesting since I do dream a lot and dreaming about a soulmate would be interesting to write about. “Dreams are like angels, they keep bad at bay, love is the light scaring darkness away”. (The Power Of Love by Frankie Goes to Hollywood comes to mind here)
24 is a basic romance and 25 could be funny. 29 would be simple to write but I don’t know how to condense it into a novella.
16 would be interesting and 17 is one I could write too since I know a lot of music and have characters who do as well (accidentally saved 17 twice and can’t delete it cause it’s a pet of one image lol)
18 would be interesting because you can play a lot of tricks with that one and twists. 19 reminds me of a sorry I stated to write but idk how to name it novella length because it could be long. Unless it’s part one.
6 could be Mayan inspired. There already is a “fart god” in their mythology which could be interesting to explore. But again, you could go down the Loki route for this, which I suspect most people will do, which is fine as well.
12 is something else I could do related to Aztecs. There is a flower prince there you can write about and play around with.
Those are all my thoughts. A lot of the prompts seem pretty good this what but I’ll think more about it after I eat breakfast. I might even end up doing multiple this year. We’ll see. I need to eliminate more probably lol
These all seem up your street, and I think you could make something kinda funny but good with 33.
47 gives kinda Stranger Things Season One vibes.
51 could either be dramatic, or a comedy.
57 seems like it could be a good college romance.
63 is interesting too, definitely. Could go a lot of ways.
62 could go with 63 as well, but mystery definitely.
86 is apocalyptic, or even fantasy related most likely. Or even something in the desert, portals. Again, a lot of things could happen with that one.
101, damn. That one sounds dramatic, lol.
119 could be fun as well. You could make that comedic too, as well as serious.
11 sounds like a fairytale retelling of some sorts.
I was thinking of 17 as well, but you can change that from a song you haven’t heard since childhood to your favorite song right?
21 is one I potentially picked as well. I have a kinda out there idea for it.
Those are all good prompts to pick as well. There’s a lot you can do with those tbh.

After thinking some more, I am going to pick the top 5-7 that I like the most and make some blurbs for them. I think I’ll pick 95, 89, 21, 29, 21, 19 and 12 (yeah, this is more than I expected and I also sounds like this week’s lottery numbers haha.
If I write blurbs, it will weed out the ones that I can’t think of any blurbs for either.

I’ve got 5 outlines done–the weakest is the last one. BUT: that means the chapters have a direction. 2K in on the first one, already.
