How far are you from finishing?

I’d say I’m a little over a third of the way into the book. Figure if it took me 2 or 3 months to do 20k then it’ll take me that much to finish? I tried to break it down into 3 arcs. Aiming for 40k.

Sounds like a plan. Yeah, the last part of the book usually takes the longest so it’s a good idea to allow more time.

Yeah. Last time I tried, i didn’t make the shortlist. I think it’s because the ending was a bit weak. It suffered due to the tight timeline.

Yeah that happens too. I sorta pre planned my story this year so that helped a lot. I didn’t stretch it out either.x

You killed them all because you hated that story and hated being forced to write it.
Well, that and I kept on pushing for a death ending because it was all the sanity you had left for it by the end.
That also means that it wasnt a wholly true-to-you story.
But you got over that hump this year more on your own because you knew you could do it, and so the ending wasnt so … ah… self-loathing? That’s not the right word. But it eas less stressed because you had the confidence of experience.

Yeah, and I didn’t want to have a sequel at all.
Yeah, because it started off good but then it started to drag and it had no direction, and because the death was the only logical ending. And yeah, it was untrue to me

Well, your MC’s frenemy was somewhere between Marshmallow and angsty teen that never grew up. The MC was a shallow adult. Just made them hard to work with.
