Mari decided to reaffirm his loyalty to Yocha over their shared goal of killing Hida.

Meanwhile Hida discovered that Mari was the only person to survive the Unreal Realm and may be the only hope he has at solving his cursed existence, so he then decided on trying to find him.

I am sure this isn’t going to go terribly wrong.

Also after discovering Mari switched sides a grand total of ten times across the entire narrative I haven’t stopped memeing him.

Yes I know his character arc is technically rather tragic but how do you switch sides ten times.

At this point it’s a comedy. This guy’s loyalty is like a revolving door.

that’s hilarious :joy:

why is that?

Amneris was handed the scroll. She looked over it with a frown. “I have no fucking clue what this says.”
Colt came and looked at it over her shoulder. “It is Hieratic. You should be able to read it.”
Amneris glared at him. “I haven’t needed Hieratic in two thousand years.”

Idk but I've been memeing it ever since

Announcer: “Good evening, folks! Tonight, we bring you a special recap of Marinov’s legendary saga, complete with his astonishing nine—or is it ten?—switches of allegiance. Grab your popcorn, because this one’s a wild ride!”

Co-Announcer: “Absolutely! We kick things off with Marinov aiding the Arymh civilians, despite Yocha’s manipulations. But soon enough, he’s coerced into assassinating a Yorymh elder. Switch number one, and we’re off to the races!”

Announcer: “Yocha’s machinations lead to a Yorymh attack on the Arymh, and Marinov defies her to save the people. Switch number two, folks! He’s playing the hero card now.”

Co-Announcer: “After meeting Hidayat and realising the depth of his plight, Marinov decides to support him. That’s switch number three! But the plot thickens as Yocha reminds him of her leverage, forcing him to cast suspicion on Hidayat. Switch number four!”

Announcer: “Captured by Yorymh and blamed for the breakdown, Marinov faces off against Kalim and defends Hidayat’s honour. Switch number five, back to the good side!”

Co-Announcer: “But then, in a desperate move to avoid execution, he accepts Yocha’s protection and betrays Hidayat. Switch number six, back to villainy!”

Announcer: “Realising his mistakes, Marinov sabotages Yocha’s plans and works with Kalim to bring her down. Switch number seven, back to being a hero!”

Co-Announcer: “In a bold move, he shoots Yocha and destroys her vials, confessing to hidden knowledge of a new anomaly and trying to save Hidayat. But after getting severely injured and saved by Yocha, he leverages the knowledge of the new anomaly to manipulate Yocha into helping locate Hidayat. Switch number eight, still playing both sides!”

Announcer: “Marinov’s journey brings him to the Arymh prison, where he bravely frees Hidayat. That’s switch number nine, back to hero mode!”

Co-Announcer: “Overwhelmed by guilt, he makes a final stand against Yocha, nearly sacrificing himself. Let’s call this the ultimate switch number ten! He’s done it all, folks.”

I am ultimately oversimplifying what was a very complex and tragic character arc but at this point this guy legitimately belongs in a soap opera because how do you change sides ten times lmao :ok_hand:
