Pick a character from your story [Prompt 16: Hidden Genius]

A few contenders.

Leon is a maths, physics, and mechanical savant. Leon is also a talented Classical pianist. He just likes acting as a muscled thick-as-a-wet-plank jock because it thoroughly annoys his ‘little’ step-sister. Also, for Leon, piano playing time is wasted machine tinkering time.

Krista is more intelligent / better educated than most high school teachers. But Krista intentionally achieves good (not excellent) grades because that’s all she needs for her academic goals (enlisting as an officer in the IAF after high school), and she doesn’t want the attention, or reputation and expectations, of being a Top 1% student. Krista also enjoys acting as a brazen overt flirt (even by Israel’s standards)* as a means of unsettling any adult she encounters, and also as a means of hiding her true talents / vulnerabilities; being more nurturing, wise, compassionate and emotional than most adults.

*The film You Don’t Mess with the Zohan is documentary. Well, the first half is.

Dov, during his junior high school years, discovered a remarkable talent for ballet. However, Dov often down-played his dancing skills as he didn’t enjoy the negative attention from his male peers (or any attention), and any stage Dov was set to perform on had to be re-enforced…Talent or not, the teenage Dov still had the physique, weight, and strength of an international Rugby Union front-row player…

And Dov’s first, blunderous / near-catastrophic, experience with sex resulted in his rapid acquisition of PhD level knowledge in the female anatomy and intimate / tantric massages, for fear of any future and otherwise guaranteed harm. Dov’s high school nickname of Ash (short for Australian Stock Horse) was also an informal classification. Dov is keen to keep such knowledge and experiences a secret, due to his persistent nature of being shy, solitary, humble, and easily flustered. Unfortunately, Dov now lives in Israel, and Krista swiped Dov’s high school journals on first sighting.

Freyja didn’t come with an instruction manual. No one knows what the upper limits of her abilities are, or if she has any limits. Strangers tend to avoid Freyja because she emits a faint aura of a complex belittling orphan girl, and of a possibly lethal (although unidentified) trans-human.

Don’t shoot her, that will only upset her ~ Blazing Saddles, paraphrased.

Can easily imagine that happening XD

I feel like I revive this thread every four months XD

I don’t have any new topics right now, but feel free to do the previous ones with different characters, or, if you’ve never seen this thread in your life, feel free to answer whichever prompt catches your eye

yessssss

A lot of them this time around are Gorons (and all the Goron OCs are actually from the same fanfic-)

Prompt 1 Answer

Tizak, a Goron from one of my BOTW fanfics (in this one, Link manages to save Daruk, but not the other Champions).

He’s the best friend of Daruk, and is extremely relieved when he gets saved. He also offers comfort to Link and Daruk about the other Champions.

He’s also like a mentor to Yunobo, so in this fanfic Yunobo is more confident.

Prompt 2 Answer

Hailwhisker, from a Warriors fanfic. He’s extremely rude to a character called Vinewhisker, picking on him and calling him names. Nobody except for Hailwhisker knows why he dislikes him so much.

Prompt 3 Answer

That last one for this character-

Nino is a Goron who was essentially cursed to be a child. It changed not only his size, but his behavior too. One of the other Gorons takes care of him (they were always close friends, so the Goron is willing to care for him).

He carries around a doll made from special material, and gets upset if someone tries to take it away from him.

He’s also more picky about rocks (since Gorons eat rocks) then the others.

Prompt 4 Answer

Coal, from a Harry Potter fanfic. He has trust issues, and prefers to remain by himself. He has both a Patronus, and an (unregistered) Animagus form, and will often turn into his Animagus when he wants some alone time.

Prompt 5 Answer

Kira (Goron) can’t cook. He’s tried many times, but each time it turns out bad.

Prompt 6 Answer

Muddle (MudWing from a Wings of Fire fanfic). He’s a student at the Academy, and he bullies the other students. He realizes he shouldn’t be doing this, but he was bullied back in the MudWing kingdom, and he feels like he has to be a bully so others don’t pick on him.

Prompt 7 Answer

Skeba (a birdfolk). They support the MC (Yurok). Yurok is an ogre, and birdfolk typically don’t like ogres (there’s plot reason behind this), but Skeba doesn’t like how this is, and they join Yurok to try to get the rest of the birdfolk to accept ogres. They support Yurok throughout the journey, and try to keep his spirits high.

Prompt 8 Answer

Maladaga (Goron). He loves to joke around with the other Gorons (including Daruk) and Link.

Prompt 9 Answer

Dole (Goron). His social battery drains quickly, and he gets tired easily, so he prefers to keep to himself.

Prompt 10 Answer

Whisper has a good relationship with his parents. He still lives with them, and they always resolve any conflict by talking it out. They even have weekly games together.

Prompt 11 Answer

Brightkit (from a Warriors fanfic). She is a kit (of course-) and she loves to play. The apprentices even let her play with them when they aren’t busy. She makes cute noises when she’s sleepy, as well.

Prompt 12 Answer

Bobi and Miro (Gorons). They’re madly in love with each other, and will defend each other if needed. They also, quite literally, finish each others’ sentences.

Prompt 13 Answer

Squirrelpaw (also from a Warriors fanfic). She’s an apprentice who gets excited about almost everything. When she gets excited, though, she tends to squeal (very high-pitched), which annoys the others. They still love her, though, because she’s adorable.

Prompt 14 Answer

Chloe. She’s a witch, and witches in this story aren’t common, so she thinks that makes her powerful She’s still learning magic, however. She does put in effort to her studies, which is good.

Prompt 15 Answer

Tiro (Goron). His father is called Domokde. He’s similar to him in that they both love to eat, but different in that Tiro is jumpy, while Domokde is confident.

Prompt 16 Answer

Doing both.

Both characters (Nightquake and Ember) have increased strength (not to the point of being superstrength, however), but they approach it differently.

Nightquake hides his increased strength because he’s afraid that someone will try to experiment on him to find out why he has this (despite it not being superstrength). He does everything he can to avoid revealing it by accident, including sometimes refusing to pick up heavy things.

Ember, on the other hand, wants other to know about his increased strength. He learns about a school for talented people, and decides to join.
