Cashless ways of paying break around here all the time so there’s not much choice between carrying and not carrying cash because you never know when they’ll break

Depends on what they’re guilty of. Ten cannibals who kidnap and eat children released into the world can cause so very much suffering, but why should one innocent have to spend his life in prison for falsely being accused of being a political opponent of a dictator? It’s a case for situational ethics, but you haven’t allowed an option for “sometimes”.

I’m working on a book of fictional TV shows. Should I have entries for adaptations of works I haven’t actually experienced for myself (e.g. a book I haven’t read)?

Depends on how much you say about those books. Are you just giving the title and a description of the plot? Then sure! But if you actually need to know how the characters interact and what the themes and whatnot are, then I don’t think the Wikipedia page on it or CliffNotes, etc. is going to be enough to convince your readers that you know what you’re talking about. ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯

I dunno, lol.
I made another character called Alfredo, but never Alf. It works for him because he’s middle aged, and it just suits his personality.
I think that Julian suits this character a lot more than Alf:
