No problem!! A lot of writers are struggling with their covers, because Canva isn’t always great, and they don’t want to use AI, so I thought it’d be a great opportunity for everyone ![]()
yeah i’ve heard from some friends that the design market is getting slightly better nowadays, people finally not wanting to use AI, which is a large factor of me getting back into design! i retired when i enrolled into college bc everyone was using AI and i thought there was no point in me sticking around
i’m having tons of fun designing again, though! so i look forward to potentially rendering my services ![]()
In the meantime, here’s a fake ![]()
form
real or fake; fake
title; Strangers on Spartakiad Street
subtitle/s; new love, old buildings
author; Maria Killjoy
mood/colors; grumpy/sunshine, Eastern Europe romcom vibes
ideas/pics; a girl and her dog live in Bucharest, Romania; think eclectic mix of communist blocks of flats and pre-WWII buildings. A mysterious guy moves into an old abandoned house on the street and the girl’s happy-go-lucky dog brings them together through a series of comical situations

(If it sounds too specific - no, I’m not writing it, just occasionally daydreaming about it
)
hii heres the fake ^^ not Quite ur Exact ideas but the fakes r more 2 be inspo so :] tyvm!!!
subtitle credit: the angry river by si istwa & father john misty
might go back and tweak the author name coloring sometime idk. i liked it at the time but seeing it here im thinking otherwise lol
oh this is so cool!!! (O.O) it fits the vibe check i had in mind for that idea heh
that author name looks pretty too! i like how it matches the central leaves in the water.
hihi heres the fake ^^ i hate this genre (anything light tbh), im so bad at making bright happy stuff so ty for making me practice ![]()
tyvm!! :–D
Sorryyy ahahaha, but it came out so good!! The little heart
begging to be written ![]()
no need to apologize i needed the practice!! and tbh consider this reserved for you if you ever write it ^^
I’ll request tomorrow! <3
@korralistic would you care for fakes based exclusively on inspo images as opposed to actual ideas?
That is an interesting question using pure inspo images could be fun.
Curious to hear your take on whether that still counts as an “idea.”
You did great though the practice really shows.
Even if it is not your genre it turned out really nice.
This came out really well great mood and composition.
The inspo angle works perfectly and nice subtitle choice too.
i’ll take anything idc bc it’s not guaranteed i’ll make it anyway all im after is inspiration ^^
ty! ^^
merry christmas and happy holidays homie skillets

alrighty! i’ve been down the image rabbit-hole on unsplash as of late, so here’s a set.
fake or real; fake
title; foretoken
subtitle; n/a
author; rishi
mood/colours; dark. foreboding, gothic undertones/deep blues, reds
ideas/pics; i. ii. iii.
Hii, i remember you! Long time no see ![]()
real or fake; real
link; The Maze of Mysteries [Interactive Story] - Hollie - Wattpad
title; The Maze of Mysteries
subtitle/s; An interactive story
author; Azanthiel & KrystalM
mood/colors; mysterious, dark, suspense. Yellows, black/greys, blue (darker navy kinds of blues, not bright sunny ones), red
ideas/pics; if providing images for use, must be commerical free such as from unsplash, pexels, etc.
misc; This has been without a cover for a while as I have no inspo so I’d just be happy to have a cover
but I know ideas are useful. So definitely something with a suspense and mystery vibe. The concept is that the reader goes into a maze and has to find their way out, with different paths, leading to different outcomes (think Triwizard Tournament kinda maze). I’ve love for the maze to be somehow incorparated on the cover, with fog surrounding it and the title being a key focus, maybe with a blood kinda effect? Alternatively, two different sides to the maze, one being dark, concrete and gloomy with a horror-ish vibe (think creepy clowns vibe), the other side being idealic, forest, almost fantasy vibe.
Thank you if you do decide to do this ![]()
Totally get that sometimes you just need a spark, not a guarantee.
