Somewhat related, but if I ever make a Book Boyfriends list, I’m putting Kaiji Ito on there, not because he’s hot, but because he isn’t a sex offender.
I read…no, expierenced Zodiac Academy for myself and I am impressed at how low the bar is for male love interests.
Have you been making premade templates that you can reuse easily, for backgrounds? The background is the bitchwork (as in it makes you feel like you’re it’s ___.
It’s weird, isn’t it? I’m thinking Qualeshia must have deleted her account, but the last time someone I knew deleted their account, the whole profile disappeared even though their posts remained. Qualeshia’s profile is still there, or was when last I checked, but she’s disappeared from the Leaderboard and I’ve moved up one place. ¯\_(ﭢ)_/¯
I’ve been keeping a casual eye on the recent developments in AI software, and I’m beginning to ponder if my university degrees (or general qualifications) will still be of any value by this time next year, or two years from now. The earliest time predicted for a bunch of geeks somewhere in the world to create a functioning prototype for artificial general / super intelligence (AGI / ASI).
Looks to me like 8th Note Press is about to become the new Dreame/Starry/WebNovel/other scammer offering writers way too little money for their work. I wouldn’t be surprised if those of you who write romance or fantasy start getting dms in Wattpad soon asking to poach your books! ☜(ˆ▿ˆc)
I have a few degrees. I was a professional student.
BA: Design and Communication
BA: Creative Writing
Graduate Certificate in Education (TESOL / TEFL)
Masters in IT (Information Management)
Most of the coding, research, data analytics, and web design courses I remember from those degrees could now be done by GPT-4, or one of its plug-ins or counterparts…At least, so I’ve heard…Photo editing and Graphic Design isn’t too safe either (Photoshop’s AI, Lumina AI, Aurora HDR, Stable Diffusion, Mid Journey, etc).
Okay, artificial intelligence is on my mind at the moment. Isn’t it always? (>‿◠)
Some authors are suing OpenAI for using their work to feed ChatGPT without compensation:
And others like Jennifer Egan, Viet Thanh Nguyen, Louise Erdrich, Michael Chabon, Suzanne Collins, Nora Roberts, Jodi Picoult, and Margaret Atwood are petitioning to get compensation for writers whenever their work is used. Granted, it’s highly unlikely that any of our work will ever be used, but if it ever is, I certainly want compensation for it! So I encourage you to join me in signing the petition here:
So umm anyway I’m seeing the West End production of A Little Life
I need to study this book! Somebody start a Little Life Studies course! Like my goodness. It’s insane just seeing how has it has left the uppity literary circle to popular book culture and normies, how it’s generated so much conversation, how it’s so divisive and yet so beloved.
